I completely agree. I am a pistol lover pure and simple, it is deep within my soul. One thing I found though was that I could not damage anyone in PVP as a pure pistol template. Melee kill me in about 1-2 hits and i could spam my most damaging specials on them for the whole duration of the root and not damage them at all. I was frustrated with this so I respected to MBH/Pistoeer to get critical shot. I could do only slightly more damage but I lost my beloved smuggler/pistoleer in the process. I am now respecing back to smuggler/pistoller as soon as the timer allows me too. I realized that I may not win any duels but my crowd control in groups is amazing. Most people go for templates that are designed to dish out damage. But I have learned that they often get eaten alive by angry mobs and that when I am in the group with all my mezzing and control abilities everything runs very smooth.

I have come to understand that my role is not as a duelest or as a 1 vs 1 PVPer, my job is to ensure that the group is taken care. I will also get my beloved smuggler skills back.

I am happy where I am as of yesterday with pistoller/smuggler.

The only problem is i am afraid they will nerf rooting for us, but the problem is not pistol wielders rooting and then doing massive damage (i spammed critical shot from BH on a level 58 brawler when I was level 80 and could not damage him) The problem is with the riflemen and carbineers using our roots. We need them for crowd control becuase we are not damage dealers. But our roots in the hands of riflemen, commandos and carbineers is what unbalances things. Pistollers really do not do much damage at all compared to the other professions. That is ok with me becuase I understand what pistols are designed to do. But if they remove our ability to do crowd control and dont give us the damage dealing power that other people have then we will be in a very sad position. I sure hope that the devs dont nerf us becuase brawlers are upset that they cant storm in and kill everyone in 1-2 hits immediately (they can still do it but with a little delay). In all honesty if you are a pure pistol user (i own no other weapons) then you should be able to root without issues. Riflemen doing it from 65m and then dishing out huge amounts of damage is the problem. Make rooting a pistols only move and otherwise leave it as it is now. This will completely solve the problem IMO.

I really dont see that many pure pistol users out there so if they remove the ability from being used by other professions then that will dramatically reduce the root nerf cries.
