The ironic thing is, that come the combat balance, (assuming they get it right and everything, riflemen and CM included, are of equal worth), Pistoleer is likely to become one of the most favoured professions.

Why? Because of the BH requirements change. People will be able to be Master Pistoleer, SmugglerRogue and Expert BH, with 12 SP to spare. This would effectively be the equivalentoftwo, to two and a half, elite combat professions all rolled into one - a pistol would finally be a force to be reckoned with.

Part of me thinks this is great, at last pistols will be at the forefront of Star Wars combat. Then however, the logical realist steps in; if this does indeed happen as I describe above, all those people that have gone for FotM professions will flock to Pistoleer. Carbineer will be a viable option, because they too can get a tree from BH, but Riflemen might have seen the end of its time and the melee professions will likely be in the shtuck. While some may cheer this idea, I do not, as I would not wish what the Pistoleer profession has been through to date (and will continue to go through until the combat balance) on any profession out there. I was hoping the CB would eliminate FotM, or at least provide many moreoptions that were diverse and not all powerful - it would seem with this change in BH SP usage, the team that tries to balance will have their work cut out for them.

Great! If so, this game might finally start to be a little like Star Wars. What are the odds of that. Ah, but then again we do have hundreds of Jedi running around as if the Jedi purge never happened. Oh well.

Since June 2004, running one of the game's first completely nonviolent characters. Testing the limits of non-combat MMORPG play and trying to have fun into the bargain (although the developers make it difficult).

Combat is no longer compulsory.
