Exactly. I wanted to be pistols from Day 2 (day one servers were broken lol). I never did the holo grind and only once tried a holo (because it was in my inventory given to me not because I searched for it). I like pistols, broke stealth nerf and all. I want to be a pistoleer. It just happens to have the added bonus of very few wanting to play it cause its not uber. Unfortunately for me I have a nack for broken professions as I am smuggler as well. I have tka but can honestly say I hate it. I use pistols mostly in pve and pvp as a choice.

One day we will get to be the famed "Flavor of the Month", I am sure of this. (As I am sure one day I'll get to have a 300K salary working 1 day a week...).
They managed to convince everyone that in a world with guns the melee was an effective class... But! What will they do in space? Equip the ships with swords?
1st officer: "Captain! Enemy is now in weapon range!"
Captain: "Bringpower to the forwardshield! Power-up the torpedoe tubes!"
1st officer: "Shield's full forward, tube ready to be loaded!"
Captain: "Great! Send the Fencers and TKAs in the tubes! Poor Star Destroyer, they won't know what hit them!"

I think a lot of people agree with you on that one. I certainly do. Every time I see a Jedi in the game, someone is grumbling about it. Hehe, Jedi are about to becomemore hatedthan entertainers are. It's ironic really, becauseJedi are overwhelmingly played by leets, and leetshave always beenthe onesbeing rude to entertainers. So I reckonit couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of people. As ye sow, so shall ye reap, as the good book says.

I have done all melee proffs except for pikeman and i have rifleman.
TKM - Not overpowered one bit, they dont have AP2 or 3 weapons and can only deal out kinetic damage which balances them greatly as most high level mobs have medium or heavy armour and everything has kinetic protection. They have high defenses but hit fast with only AP1 therefore imo they are balanced.
Fencer - Same as fencer without AP1, u will not usually die in PVE but it will take ages to actually kill something. Fast hitter with no AP and extreme defenses, they are balanced to an extent, in PVE as they wont usually get hit by anything, but should have at least the gaffi stick as AP1 perhaps. In PVP they are overpowered due to a bug in the scatter hit 2 special and the fact they have stun damage.
Swordsman - They hit very slow for high damage with no really descent defenses at all. Without tapes a power hammer swings for 2 - 2.5 per special. They are able to beat anything in PVE as they have AP2 on their weapons, and with tapes can hit the cap. IMO the armour types is why this proffession shines out from the rest and they can easily enhance their weapons with Rancor Teeth and Acklay bones.
Rifleman - the most over powered proff in the game. U get AP0 - AP3 weapons, ranging from energy, acid, stun, heat, cold and kinetic thats more range than any other proff including Commando. At master u almost shoot a 7 second weapon at once per second, but with a simple +5 tape ur shooting at the cap with AP2 and 3 weapons. Rifleman also get some pretty good defenses. They have short, medium and long range weapons.
Pistoleers get almost 0 ranged defense, a puny amount of melee defense and they get dodge.A tonne of broken specials.
Body shot 3, Leg Shot 3 and Head Shot 3 do little or no more damage than the "weaker" 2 level specials in marksman.
Pistols are the weakest ranged and prolly the weakest combat proff in the game. I recently took up this proffession again as i was sick of rifles and i wanted to keep CM.
Armour is the biggest obstacle of any pistoleer, whether it be comp armour or the meadium/heavy armour level mobs in the game. And the other proffs can attack at our speed with better weaponry.

It's been fixed. Plus Anyone who purposely used that in pvp was an exploiter and since it has been fixed will probably move on to rifleman/cm. As Far as stun damage, not all fencers can afford a 3 mill credit baton to get good damage output. This has always been a low minority of fencers. Most people just didn't have any stun protection. With stun comp and a psg, be alot harder for a fencer tohurt you with a normal stun baton. Unless of course you want to give them an hour to wear you down.
I agree with your post mate just wanted to make the clarification on the fencer status. I have done all the melee classes and I'd have to put pistoleer in the same boat as pikeman. Those boys and girls don't get any love either. But atleast they got an AOE knockdown and probably have a few more specials that actually work. Not many though.

on our servers only the hard core PVPers are left and most have enhanced acklay stun batons, most ppl carry 300-400 max damage ones.
Unfortunately the special is still bugged as it hit 2 pools at once and the first is mitigated, toughness and protected by armour, then second pool isnt.

I just made master pistoleer, and ya know what???
WE HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE WHINING BABIES.
I wanted to be a master pistoleer becuase of all the awesome pistol fights in the movies. Now that I'm a master pistoleer I hardly use it cuz it sucks sooo bad. I'm glad I kept TKA as well, because I would be dead in the water if I didn't.
Pistoleer is not as cool as it should be. For exammple, you never see Han Solo or Jango Fett put their pistols away and fight unarmed!!!
They still have a lot of work to do with this game. I pray to the force that after the combat balance pistols will be WAY cooler.

I am currently a Master Pistoleer and a Master TKM. I have been a Pistoleer since I first started and will continue to be one until the Devs finally fix our proffession. However,I can honestly say that I like TKM MUCH more than Pistoleer. It's stronger, faster, and just plain more fun than being a Pistoleer.
Rather than doing miniscule amounts of damage with pistols, TKM's can wreak havoc, especially in PVE. Whereas it takes 5-7 shots to kill someone with a pistol, it may only take 1-2 hits as a TKM. This pretty much goes the same for CM's and Rifleman. It's not that they are overly powerful, it's just that they aren't in balance with the other weaker proffessions.
By the way, I beleive this game would have been a lot better if Jedi had never been added.
