pistoleer= hmmm pistoleer meaning realy good with a wow pistol.

bounty hunter with bounty hunter pistol tree= better with a pistol than a master marksman

as said before spend as much as pistoleers do in EXP for the skill that only works with pistols

just because boba fett was cool and way tough doesnt mean a bountyhunter is the best there is out there

and heck rember boba fett got beat by han <a pistoleer more than a smuggler> when han was blind and swinging a stick heh.

Yeah, Bounty Hunter descriptions are cool.

Unfortunately Bounty Hunters are still pretty weak.

It may be cool to look cool but dying isn't much of a living, boy.

Notice it says 'almost' any opponent. They should have said 'except pistoleers.'

Try using strategy and tactics. Four boxes of pistol skill does not equal 18 boxes of pistol skill.

I don't lose duels because i can spam KDs and never be hit. I don't even lose HAM for it either.

So get your facts straight buddy, I don't lose duels unless someone has the same trick I have. It's not about skills, it'sthe professions, and I happened to pick the good one.

The only time I might lose, like I said, is if someone has the same strategy I have, but even then, I win most because I have one of the best scatter of my galaxy and a good composite armor as well.

So no, i don't lose duels.

ghoste, you have a really good point, and that's what i do. I use both my carbine and pistol to win fights. Nothing wrong with that.

And that's how the game's designed, and it works good. no complainning there. It's the pistoleers posting in BH forum to nerf us because they can't kill us that's annoying.

MAster Pistoleer and Master BH are totally different... BH has multiple weapons to use... come on only think you compare BH and Pistoleer with is the Pistol tree. I never got this big fight. How abotu Carbineers vs BH? Jes... obviously a Master BH can do this, Master Pistoleer has its rewards but its specialization in one weapon, BH isnt. So who gets better Pistol skills? PISTOLEER. best "overall"? BOUNTY HUNTER...

Where I think most BH's have got their thinking wrong is this mistaken assumption that Bounty Hunter's are better at killing than anyone else. This is a flatly incorrect belief and is not brought out historically. Bounty Hunter's are better at tracking and capturing/assassinating a particular chosen target, not just anyone who happens to walk by.

As a pistoleer, if a BH was tracking me I should have almost ZERO chance against him. In the game this would best besimulated by giving BH's a skill that allows them to approach their target undetected on the radar til within about 10 meters or when they fire. In PvP this would, of course, only work against overts or those in a rival PA that is at war. NOT in a duel. Bounty Hunter's do not duel, they track. If a bounty hunter is dueling a master of a weapon, then that is a foolish BH not using tools appropriate to his profession.

When you consider BH's historically, in the perspective of the American Old West, you will see that bounty hunter's did not duel. Consider the famous gunslingers of that era, such as Billy The Kid, Jesse James, Wild Bill Hickok, Wyatt Earp, etc .... Very, very few were killed in 'duels' and only then against others that were equally skilled with pistols (other pistoleers) or through fluke chance. Some died in massive shootouts where anyone was at great risk. Those that were killed by bounty hunters were shot in the back unawares (ala Bill Hickok) or at some time where they were unaware of the hunter after them.

Looking at it realistically, BH's should almost never stand up to a weapon specialist (pistoleer, rifleman, carbineer, commando) in a stand-up fight (aka 'duel'). Likewise, I, as a pistoleer, should have almost zero chance of winning against that guy coming after me with the trained bears (i.e. creature handler).

I have no problem with the power level of any class (except maybe some of those that really are gimped, such as Commando). I fight the way I choose to fight (pistoleer) and it would make no sense for someone else to be better at that one weapon than a master of it. Rather than anyone crying that ANY profession should be nerfed, we should all be on the Dev's butts to FIX the problems with abilities that don't work, weapons that plain suck, and adding CONTENT for the relevant professions. BH's should have much more to do than hunt down /con red NPC's. Without that content it's understable that the only thing left for them to do is compare them to other combat classes. A pistoleer on the other hand, doesn't need or deserve any content for playing, we just shoot things.

BTW, go check out the web for info on the world's current best Bounty Hunter (can't remember his name, Duane something, but he's called Dog). He is not some Uber killing machine. A SpecForce commando could take him down in no time. A Martial Arts master would beat him silly. A Sniper would pop his skull before he knew what was happening. A Gunslinger would gun him down in the street in no time......

BUT ....

If he was hunting any of those folks, he would track them down, plan his attack and then capture them before any of them could bring their special skills into play. THAT is what a Bounty Hunter is

FUN THINGS TO DO TO BOUNTY HUNTERS! FOR PISTOLEER EYES ONLY!

So I'm stumbling out of the cloning center in Bestine after a rousing PvP romp when, with about 500 wounds, I get owned by a Bounty Hunter. Now I don't want to get into details about who this particular bounty hunterwas but I will tell you he was named Darkon on the Flurry server, an imperial in the <UberTough> PA, 512 Market street Pheonix, AZ 98534 (home number)253-636-5542, (fax) 253-636-3114. Anyway, so he uses knock down shot, eye shot and kills me, big suprise.

What I wasn't prepared for is what came next. After viciously murdering me he proceeded to gloat over my corpse, calling me names and using obseneties that would make Jabba the Hutt blush. So then it was on. I promptly alt-tab'd and fired up the song "Eye of the Tiger" on my ole mp3 player.

As I was heading back to TEF kill him, I realised I'd need to heal my self and by then the TEF flag would be gone. Then inspiration struck.

Bounty Hunters, we all know, are gimps. No seriously, they are kids that want to be the uberest and it just so happens that BH has the defenitive skills for pvp, eyeshot, knockdown shots etc etc. Those that chose BH purely for eyeshot will no doubt switch to the next most powerful class when BH's get nerfed. I've found a pattern to Sony's logic as far as nerfing classes goes.

If your class is at all good, expect a nerf.

Anyway, back to me. So I went back into the Cantina after healing and found Mr Big Tough BH talking about how he owned me. It occured to me that aBH's biggest concern is to be tough, so I let him try to be tough. I simply commented on how Darkon was likely afraid to duel me when I had full HAM. He leaped at the chance to kill me again, of course I had to play by his rules which meant no pets. He didn't want to duel in the cantina either, so I though he was on to me. He didn't want to get close to my pistol whip and insisted we go outside, I went outside having one more card to play. Knowing how arrogant BH's can be, I said something to the effect, "Well, tough guy, thought we were dueling?" Of course he immediatly challenged me and I had him! Even though we started maybe 50 meteres a part I was able to close that distance, begin the duel when I was on top of him, and get the first shot in, which of course was pistol whip. Down he goes in front of his buddies, I'm wearing a cute little white number with black pinstripes and he's in full composite, so it took a while. Had to stim my self 3 times during my pistol whipping furry, but it was worth it.

So play on BH's innate arrogance and get the first shot in.

Spinepuller

noone gives a flyin flick about xp. anyone can get xp points and they come with time. what does not come with time however is SKILL POINTS. Bounty Hunters use far more skill points.

If I spend 217pts and you spend 92pts, there is no arguing that I *SHOULD* have the upperhand.

That being said, if you spend your 92pts and then put another 125 into Combat Medic or Creature Handler...we should then be on an equal footing since we spent the same # of points for the same goal...COMBAT EFFECTIVENESS...

it's called balance

You are an idiot... That point will be made if you continue to read.

Experience is what matters that is what determines how good you are. Skill points are so you don't go around and master every tree again not a tool to measurepowerit is to prevent you from doing everything.

Refer to the sig and realize while you aretraining all those cool things I am using my pistoloh and if 2.6 million xp iseasy to come by for you we need to group.

Oh andusing your failed logic.

Bounty Hunter spends 21.. that's TWENTY-ONEskill pointsrelated to pistols...That is all, and once more 21 atMasterBounty Hunter. So you understand 21 skill points related to pistol, and by your logic (which is failed) skill points spent determines power.

MasterPistoleer spends 63 skill points related to pistol.

Yeah this argument is over you just lost according to your own logic.

What Jaegen said. This threadserves no purpose other than to instigate an argument which was thepatently obviousintent of the dork who started it. Talk about an egregious lack of subtlety. The Mods should shut this thing down and ban the author from posting for a day or two.
