Thread: Strike Pistol changed?

Any change to a weapon would not be retroactive, ever. It would only affect newly crafted items. Not even a mighty CSR has the power to change an item after it has been crafted.
Tusken and Lithitanium rifle damage type changes were retroactive.
Nym's Carbine is also kinetic. The day I realized I had made an ass of myself was via a friend who was using a Nym's.

pistoleer has the only kinetic ranged weapon and we will probably forever have that running for us
You're forgetting the Tusken King's Rifle
And the original Lithium Rifles. If you count those rifles, rifleman actually have 1 more damage type total than pistoleers. That used to be our niche'.

Are you serious? I mean I knew it changed, but that isn't supposed to be possible.

King Tusken Rifles are still kinetic in description but you will get a "you are not certed for this weapon and damage will be greatly reduced" message even if you are master rifle when you equip it.
ALL Lithium rifles (which look exactly like a tusken rifle...) were change from kinetic to energy.
Nym's Carbine is acid whoever thought it was kinetic is wrong. It didnt used to require a cert (like republic blasters) so it was nice for initial grinding. Both Nyms and Repubs now require novice carb/pistol to use. Old ones do not.

Also, I remember when my probot lost its medium armor in the retroactive droid nerf before the Droid Invasion.
Beat me to it, was going to say the same about retro-nerfs
The Spraystick used to be acid before they changed it to energy (?!). Energy and "spraystick" just don't got together. That is one weapon that they should change back just because it's so stupid now.

The loss of a certified Kinetic rifle is a rather sad situation, but I suspect it is a band-aid fix to the already overpowered Rifleman profession (watch a low-level rifleman with mask scentspam conceal shot for a half hour and kill a Kimo or Krayt solo, unbuffed, and unarmored, without breaking a sweat or recieving so much as a scratch,to see my point in all it'sunbalanced glory). I also vaguely recall Nym's being a kinetic weapon when it first showed up on live servers, and being rather suprised when I finally ran the mission to recieve my Acid Carbine from him.
If I recall correctly, the Striker pistol has a rather anemic max damage, yes? Is there any way to Krayt these, or otherwise construct them to significantly upgrade their power, and thereby makeone a worthwhile addition to my personal armory? The one I currently have is actually outgunned by some of my high output pistols that targets have higher resists to. It's truly a shame to see my Striker do less damage than my Mod Republic to a creature with kinetic vulnerability and 35% resists to enegry...
Last note- to truly lament a lost damage type: Anyone remember Restraint damage?
