Thread: Disarming attack

I tried using it, and testing it yesterday, and believe that it is brooken. I could never get it to delay any attacks from ranged or melee characters.
You wouldn't know it to read the Jedi forums. Some of them are screaming for a nerf. Maybe they broke it in the publish yesterday, dunno. It worked fine before that and has saved my butt a ton of times in a close duel.

I use it.
It shouldn't DO much damage anyway, it's a Mezz. It shouldn't do ANY damage in my opinion. Just like StartleShot shouldn't.
Turn off your Default attack if you intend on using it. It breaks on damage or after like 5 or so seconds.
didn't think about disarm and knockdown... new tactics for jedi killing

I find it better to KD, then get off two power attacks before they get up, then use Disarming Shot to buy time for another shot and prevent your target from healing.
KD -> Damage -> Damage -> Disarming Shot -> Damage -> Damage -> Disarming Shot
That works well if you have a BH template that can spew out the damage.
If a Jedi is right up on you slicing you up and you are trying to buy time/distance, Disarming Shot will save you some skin.
If you lack a mez or root and need to flee a fight for good, I bet you could KD then use Disarming Shot to buy yourself 5 seconds of running away time ![]()
I use it and love it.
I'm master rifle too, so that may be why I find it so useful. Lots of requests to nerf this shot and others like it for a second time (didn't use to break on dmg) and I can see why. I just hope they don't nerf it to oblivion, a small tweak or short timer would be sufficient. The problems arise when more than 1 player uses delay shots in cooperation, just like the roots. The hard part the devs have is to fix these things without making the specials themselves worthless, and their track record on that type of thing is not so good.
I guarantee you won't beat me by spamming Disarm.
You'll have to use Startle Shot + DIsarm, because *Startle Shot* does 600+ damage along with the delay mezz. A Mezz shot shouldn't do damage like that. Disarm doesn't need a Nerf. Startle Shot needs to be "fixed" if people are going to be allowed to spam it back-to-back with Disarm.

I've been on the receiving end of it. It's really cheese.Startle Shot - 600 Damage. 5 Second Mezz. - You spend your time trying to spam an action to get it in before the next mezz..Disarming SHot (with a Rifle) - ~200 - 300 Damage. 10? second Mezz - You spend your time trying to spam a heal before the next mezz.Startle Shot - 600 Damage. 5 second Mezz. - Same as before. There MAY be a ~ 0.5 - 1 second window of availability here, sometimes due to lag.Disarming Shot (with a Rifle) - ~ 200 - 300 Damage .......You lose.
Cool Ill be sure to use this untill it gets the nerf bat!
