Thread: What is wrong with Pistoleer?

Well, that makes me feel batter then.

I am pretty sure I did not accidentally turn it on.

What I do think happened, was I had turned off my auto attack some time ago (which I did) and the system decided to give me one.

It just, for some reason, chose to give me the ever-so-useful attack of /kneel

And I thought people were supposed to kneel before ME?

I think I found out what is happening. Kneel was also in my first toolbar set to the second square. ( /ui action toolbarSlot01 ) That was the firs ttime, when I didn't notice what was happening.

Yesterday I made my default attack in toolbarSlot14 (SHIFT F4) but in my second toolbar with all my other pistol attacks. I then turned OFF my default attack since I didn't want it on anymore and left it like that and logged off later on that night.

When I logged in today, the system made me have a default attack turned on. It put the default attack in SHIFT F4, where it was previously the night before. Thing, is it put the default attack in this spot, but in the FIRST toolbar.

Seems like, that if your default attack is off when you log, the system turns it back on and puts it in the first toolbar in the spot where you had last had it, even if it was in another toolbar.

Not game-breaking, but this is what's happening.

This is great info. Primarily because I dont use any default attack so I need to know these things.

As I say, I have heard of this bug before on other forums.. the main thing here is... can you post steps to reproduce the bug?

Iknow you have gone into very clear detail on this issue in your post, but the best and quickest way to get a fix from the Dev team for any bug is to be really ana'l (word flagged)and post exact steps to reproduce the bug in massive detail.

I'll try to reproduce it myself, once we have a set pattern then the fix will be in the next publish... they lose a lot of time trying to recreate bugs that we tell them about.

If we can lock down exact steps on these bugs then we will get them in the next publish rather than in some galaxy, far, far, away.

I can't get my F5 key macro on my first toolbar pane (bound to Advanced Startle Shot) to permanently turn off either. It always comes back on when I restart the game. As for what steps I might have done to cause this to happen, all I can remember is that I set it to auto attack one day, and it stayed there forever afterwards. I can temporarily turn it off, but it comes right back on with my next gamerestart. Very annoying.

I've been running around with my auto-attack off for several weeks now, without having it automatically turned on. What I do remember from when I experimented with it though was that it turned itself on again at least once. No issues with it since though.

I've experienced auto attack turning on/switching to a different skill, but that was because I had that skill ticked as auto attack before, logged out, back in, and then changed/turned it off and then crashed. It appears those type of things are only saved when you exit the game. Guess its to reduce any possible lag from writes to disk, though I'd take the slightly longer hit to my FPS having it change every time I add/remove an icon and change my auto attack.

This bug has been in for a while now. It's exactly as he described it, no recreation necessary. It happens every time you log out completely and back in. I have my default attack set to the second button in the second row on my third page. Every time I log back into the game, it's in the second button, second row, but on the first page. I always switch it back, but it gets reset after each complete logout. So it takes the position of the button and puts in the exact same position, just on the first page of hotkeys.

Thanks... cant ask for more details than that.

If you don't use a default attack I would suggest setting it to knockdown recovery. That way you still have full control over when you atack and what you aggro, but you'll get back up as soon as possible when being knocked down without having to worry about pressing a button (and there is no reason not to recover right away, like there might be with other states).

Downside is you might get some annoying clicking when you are not shooting but thats something I can live with.

I tried it but it got in the way of some of the precisely timed macros I have. I might give it another go.

Hmmm, maybe that is what is screwing up one of my macros. It is supposed to do 3 shots but has been skipping the middle one recently. Could be because I'm using a different pistol too, I'll have to check it out.
