Thread: My conclusions of pistoleer defense after weeks of testing.
I'm very happy to find this post.
I have very high def v. Dizzy points (80), but was still getting dizzy kd by TKMs on their first attack.
I did a quick test today with a TKM who did just dizzy attackwhile iequipped my DX2 andthen my republic blaster. Again, this was just a quick test, but it does suggest that it should be examined more closely.
w/ DX2 - 11 dizzy attacks - 0 dizzies.
w/ Republic Blaster - 11 dizzy attacks - 4 dizzies.
I am now in the market for a very fast, high damage DX2.... wish me luck, i'll need it.
Interesting results and thoughts, Sauer. I definitely do think that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to how knockdown works ... there are probably a number of variables at work, and I don't claim to understand them all. I have lots of ideas, and lots of my own experiences, but no sure conclusions. For instance I think you may be right that armor affected the ability to knockdown, because the amount of damage spit out by the weapon does seem to matter ... maybe the armor reduction is factored into the knockdown's damage when determining whether the target is knocked down. The short answer is that I don't know for sure.
I have been PvPing a lot during the past week or two -- it's been a nice break from the holo grind -- and I haven't had trouble knocking down other Pistoleers or Smugglers. I have had a ton of trouble knocking down TKAs and other melees ... and lots of trouble hitting melee and Riflemen (+78 Ranged Defense).
In my knockdown tests, I did sit down and wait for all the states to go away (including dizzy) before trying again. That's one reasonwhy it took so long to do.
