It would be an encouragement to bring doc along the same way KD/Dizzy served as an encouragement to bring docs along pre-CU. Does anyone know anyone who did that, ever?

And yes, if stun is changed in accordance to what Dave-at-the-fanfest (who, for the record, also made a dumbass statement regarding BH's not being able to take MDef's 1v1 being unfit for bounty-hunting. I'd like to see him try tbh) my bat wielder's desired template would alter. I can live with being dizzied, blinded and having my regen slowed, but if it's stopped, that has too much of an effect of my DPT *not* to make me get a recovery. A stunned player without a recovery would be crap all of a threat. Intimidate dropped damage output by 50%, not being able to fire any special (in a bad enough situation, even ranged shot will be out of the question) is going to be *much* worse.


Dizzy and blind are both annoying to have stuck on you, but you don't have to expend action to remove. It's a tactical choice. Is the action/time to run the recovery worth it, or should I keep fighting as is? A complete regen stop on stun makes it a complete no brainer. You recover, or get your ass handed to you faster than you can figure out how to spell "sithspit" backwards. (t... i... p... s... t.... h... t... is!).



It's hard to simulate how much of an impact this special would have, but I can heartily recommend visiting the Eran Sif dungeon on Talus to experience chain stunning. Just try to recover from every single stun, they reapply it fast. Then imagine if your regen stopped every time.

must agree with the majority, stun state should reduce regen by 33-50%, right now stunning an opponent in PvE or PvP is virtually useless.

have they talked about a duration on stun? I wonder if that could be the balanceing point once it works properly. Stopping someones regen totally for a couple of seconds at the right time could make a big diff. Stopping it for 30 seconds is crushingly unbalanced.



I would disagree that stun is "worthless" in PvP, it's all about the timing.


PvE? ya, not so hot.

You know what I dont like about Stun Being fixed. The fact that "Burst Shot" was a carbineer skill you robbed from us. Actually being able to apply stun/dizzy/blind with various specials was what i loved about being carbineer.


In the infinite wisdom of the devs they again decided to take content/skills from one group and give it to another. Then call it a revamp.


Carbineer is maybe 10% of what it's supposed to be according to the profession documents.


Therefore I'd like to ask for all those professions that "stole" carbineer's ability to state attack things to ask the devs to give them back to their rightful owners, namely the carbineers.

I do not like the idea of stun stopping regen completely, it will become the old dizzy/kd "I win" tactic, I'd get that target to wear his action down, then KD him and stun him, knowing that KD recovery even uses action to execute- he will not be able to.

I'd say make Stun completely stop regen (or like 90%) for a short time. This way, it is most useful if you can skillfuly time it right when your opponents' actionpool is drained so he can't recover. But it also makes it so you don't have to have stun recovery to compete, because it will only last a for a few attacks. In addition put a knockdown-eque timer on it so you can't keep reshooting it on someone to completely deny them action or mind.


Otherwise, make it a longer duration and 50% regen rate.

If stun actually stopped regeneration I would probably use it. Ok, I would use it. Right now it's just a huge pain since it is an area attack.

well... look at it this way, pistoleer specials got switched around and tossed to other prosions as well as some of the ranged support trees.... whatever happend to suppresion fire? did it get moved to carbs?
