Thread: My final plea to the devs
I love this game! Whenever I log on, me and my friends (in various other professions) joke about whose going to be nerfed next. I was thinking of going BH for eyeshot but I know thats going to get hit witht he nerf bat. I also thought about going smuggler and even though I don't think it needs to be nerfed, I'm sure they will get hit with something on their combat line (dirty fighting). I mean theres already some clueless pistoleer bitching on this forum about panic shot. I think the devs main problem is they listen to US, the player base, too much! I mean I know CHs were overpowered and the devs were going to tweek them one way or another but I think the main reason the nerf bat hit that class so much was because of all the whining. So I agree and disagree with you.. I do feel the devs should listen to the player base more but it seems like the only thing they listen to is the nerf whining, which in my honest opinion is not good.
In my original post , when I talk about listening to the player base , I am reffering to the non PvP griefers.

Actually I think alot of people like me are just the "waiting fo something else to come out"(WoW) types. In the meantime we continue to play this game and all of its nerfs. I understand the reasons fo most of the nerfs but sheesh this crap should have been taken care of in the so called "beta" of SWG. I call it "so called beta" because I feel like everytime I get on im beta testing this game, not playing a finished product.

yea i feel the same way. I think it could be good but this bs has been going on for awhile now. I expected problems when getting it but this is taking too long and nothing is getting fixed. There is no content, nothing works, nothing gets fixed, stuff that kinda almost works gets nerfed. There is nothing to do. i have master psitoleer with some medic / bh etc. and well i have no skills that work for fighting i use marksman skills. theres no content with any rewards. why play? i do quests that endup at dead end waypoints that are broken. What do we have in an upcoming patch? more nerfs.
I also like the idea of this game but if something new comes out i hate to say this but ill prolly throw this pos away. Everquest fixed stuff FAST. if a skill didnt work it would go max 2 days till it was totally fixed. Here we have skills that have never worked since day 1 and have they fixed it? hell no they broke more... I'm tired of it myself and I am patient but everyone has their limits.
jaegan i suggest you turn in this guy's post with the next pistoleer report.
i, too, am getting sick of the nerfs and the constant crap they throw our way. i am only going to wait 1 more month to see if the next 'big patch' addresses these issues before i cancel my account.
With out a doubt this perfectly sums up my feelings and the mood I see in SWG.
The dev's are killing this game.
Actually, it was the lack of the beta testing, which is what we are doing now.
Once everyone is nerfed down to ineffective then they will go and give the classes something, but by then its too late to many people have left and the game is never what it could/should have been.
As far as the dev's not reading this post..... post a exploit ( like I did) and see how long it stays on the boards..or post a thread about how you are happy someone else got nerfed and see how long it takes for the thread to get closed.....
They read or they have someone monitoring the boards....the problem is....no comunication or no sense of it to those that feel they need it.
If the dev's said "We are going to try this, let us know how it works and if it doesn't we will change it." The masses would suffer through the bad changes, report the findings( see the pistoleer corospondant, excellent job) and await the good changes that would come.
This currently is not the case.

Haha @ the pet healing nerf. Yeah it sure is cruel to nerf something that could give players 20K xp in 10 minutes. And im a doctor and not even a master - yet i fully understands their reasons and support them. There are 2 kind of MMOG players. Those who can see past short term nerfs for the good of the game and those who cant and want to retain every overpowering ability they may or may not have had out of the box. Im glad you cancelled now you can go back to Counterstrike i think it fits your style better.
And 1 last thing. Why does every idiot who cancels feel they need to write a god **edit** 100 page essay on what is wrong with the game. Just quit already nobody cares about you...

I have no idea what the AC2 forums looked like, because I gave up on that game before it hit retail. But these forums also look very much like the EQ forums when that game first came out. You might even say that nothing has changed much from one SOE game to the next.
But then, EQ's still around, y'know.

FIrst off A2 was an unbalanced wreck at release. The first month was percherons call, everyone got up on a perch and was sololing mobs like lvl 60 storm tyrants. Then you had classes like the melee/sage who were near unkillable. The devs effectiviely designed a class that could heal itself faster then any monster in the game could dish out dmg, at the same time this class could chain cast heals FOREVER they had a limitless vigor supply for casting heals.
It is funny that alot of the people on the AC2 boards complained that the sage was'nt overpowered rofl.ALot of people that complain about nerfs are seflcentered and greedy, they can't look at their class realisticly and see that there might be a few things that are overpowered. You don't have to be more powerful then everyone elseto have fun. To be so dead set against nerfs is like saying the game is perfectly balanced at release and the devs should'nt change a thing.
Can you honestly say that 3 gurrecks and 3 at-st and chain knockdowns all possible with 1 character is'nt ovepowered? the devs in swg needed to make some of these changes.
As for nerfs killing AC2 that was'nt what made everyone leave. There was VERY little content once you reached lvl 50. There was also nothing to do in the game at all besided wacking monsters.
The SWG devs have alrdy addressed pvp issues within the first 2 months and I think it has helped the game alot. The tradeskill system and various non-combat skills add some variety to the game instead of just playing wack a mole like ac2.
