Thread: BHs, pistoleers, and equal ground
"How in the world have you come to the conclusion that Im a dabbler? Is that why pistoleers bitch? After MCH and master pistoleer I have 52 skill points left over. Now I see, all pistoleers dont utilize their leftover skill points and just leave them sit. Fools. "
That's hilarious since Bounty Hunters always scream Dabbler at anyone not mastering a skill, but after 217 on BH I can't see them mastering another... and that means they're taking something with their leftover points and "dabbling" or they're not utilizing their leftover points. But really, I don't like to generalize BHs and Pistoleers too much. You're a perfect example of why: we're players and we can change from BH to Pistoleer or make multiple characters. This isn't about Pistoleers vs BHs... it's about some annoying people on both sides and some okay people on both.

OK Ive seen the the situation from both sides of the fence and Im asking you? What sense would it make to have Pistoleer on par with BH? I would not want that to happen. Why? Pistoleer would cost just as many skill points to obtain. Sure in PVP the BH has an edge against a pistoleer, but the Pistoleer/CH/carbineer/medic lays waste to every BH before him. Maybe I just want more power than you do, I dont know. Im tell you flat out, youcan and will be more powerful than a BH if you DIVERSIFY into other combat professions. If you want to craft tuff **edit**, you cant have your cake and eat it too.
If you want to be more powerful than a BH and still have skill points in the bank there is something wrong with you.

Not to mention the only shot they will have is torso shot which like anyone that pvp knows stop shot is way better than any BH Pistol move.
For those that don't know eyeshot is going to MBH, though I guarantee many pistol BH/Pistoleers never used it much I know I did not.

Well StoppingShot *is* a great special as long as you have the BH pistol speeds, but it isn't worth using once you've surrendered BH pistol and are just stuck with +74 speed from Master Pistoleer.
So my statement wasn't wrong ... my point was just that he gave up better specials to get worse ones.
As a side note, I do think that TorsoShot is better than StoppingShot overall ... TorsoShot does 3.0 health targeted damage versus 5.0 random HAM from StoppingShot (which means 55% of the time it hits health), plus of course Torso has a great DoT. StoppingShot is the most useful, as a BH/Pistol combo, when you have a good enough gun that you can incap in 1-2 hits. As a pure Pistoleer, it generally isn't worth using in PvP.
Of course Stopping Shot deals more dmg in a single hit but 1) it is way slower than Torso Shot and 2) it hits only 55% of the time the health Pool. Add to this the dmg bonus of Stopping Shot is divided by 4 in PvP, so you barely reach the 50 more dmg with stopping vs torso. Then, the great dot enters in action.
Now, Pistoleer is perfect to complete BH skills, when you consider Stopping Shot once per second is very efficient AND Torso Stacking with HS1 and 2. But I wouldn't surrender BH Pistol Line for any Pistoleer skill.
On another hand, defense bonuses and moving bonuses are very good and shouldn't be forgot, especially in PvP. But I surely would go for Carbine Line in BH tree before even thinking about going in Pistoleer Tree as a BH...their specials in Carbine are just awesome.

The game is based on a dabble system.
Meaning Custom Chars that everybody doesnt have.
But there are also Cookie Cutter Classes in this game,
Mainly Bounty Hunters and those that feel insecure about thier class and piss other people off (Pistoleers/peeps that dabble into BH)
But who the **edit** cares?!?!
All you whiners out there are dabblers. If you want PvP (and nothing BUT pvp) would you pick master
pistoleer/master smuggler or master pistoleer/DF smuggler/TKA med and so forth.
Thats what this game is about, dabbling. Go try it. For those who feel insecure, do the Master Cookie Cutter

Torso shot will always hit chest and eyeshot will always hit head, these maybe advantages when armor is not involved, but when armor is factored in someone can have an 80% acid helmet and 80% acid chest plate which makes it impossible to kill target.
To stop stopping shot you need to have a complete set of 80% and without buffs and drugs this is impossible.
I agree that my example isnt exactly *controlled* by that I mean I am adding armor as a variable so it really doesnt count, but this is a truth and its all about in game effectiveness not just number crunching.
