In reply to our Pistoleer Correspondent, regarding"this would fall under the "polishing" category far down the road."
This post wasaimed at a Post Combat Balanceera, where Pistoleers are firing at150% of the speed cap with duel weapons, who only run away from a most devoted melee template, Carbineers are feared for being masters of GCW open warfare and Group Vs Group Duels (a newSquad Leaders ability) and Riflemen are litterally Snipers (rightly feared "aim, aim, aim, bang. one man drops dead, where did that come from?" killers).
From what I've heard fromTanks, the BH Correspondent,Post Combat BalanceBounty Hunters won't rely on Changing weapons so often. Does that mean they may not use Pistols, or that they will gain specials that work with various weapons? Who knows.
Anyway I just hope that this post stays afloat, or at least remains in peoples minds until those glorious days are upon us.
A note to all the pessimistic hecklers: UO is fixed. Asheron's Call is fixed. Dark Age of Camelotis fixed. Hell even Shadowbane is well on the way to getting it right. It has been a year, but only a year, and this game has a damnsight more content than any of those other games I used to play. But by the time we see the combat balance, you'll be whining about some new fotm mmog, right?

and now I am a MPistols, MBH, SL 0404 (better bonuses than MMarks), and I'm currently thinking about getting ranged and defense bonuses from the FS slots(I haveno intention of going Jedi).

Did you read it? Are you denying the recent relevence of such a post? I know we've had at least two different correspondents,a Combat Upgrade and an Advertising Campaign since this post (and since I was last an active poster) so I thought you and the EpIII Rush (my term for the new wave of players) might fancy having a look.
Not hard to adapt alot of the idea into the new skil tree, but then I don't want to chop up the old PBAoE animation ideas, cause they were some of my favorites ![]()

Firstly, I don't want to backflip off a skyscraper killing 9000 thugz and then wall running into a helocoptor which is shaped like another wall which you need to backflip off of. The idea of such animations in this game would quite possibly make me vomit.
Secondly:
Your entire post became unreadable after this point. Try not to insult something others might find infinitely better than the "USE TEH FORKS NEO!!1" crap that seems to raigne supreme in the gunfight genre.
With those points stated, I've always loved to see some realistic stances and poses in the game. When I activate duelist stance (bh I know, shush) I expected to turn sideways slightly and raise my arm and pistol eye height (usually the point and shoot stance would be shoulder height) like one might do when actually dueling someone with pistols the old fashioned way, not the "run in random direction with fingers spasming until casings no longer eject flashily" hollywood method.
When I Think of dual weilding I expect to have my other pistol at shoulder height along side my first in the same pose, firing away with my off hand's elbow bent. I want to see elegance and simplicity, otherwise I'd go play MxO, I hear SOE aqquired to rights to ruin that one as well.
I mean no offense I see where you're coming from and I also agree there needs to be new animations to make dual weilding seem cooler, but I never saw han, boba or jango doing backflips and firing with their arms cocked behind their backs while drinking a mountain dew.
Side note: I'm cranky today it seems.
