-80 to defence for 15 seconds, in practice when firing at a gorax I get an extra 50 damage so well worth keeping it on your toolbar.

If you are going up against a healer/ranged person in PvP, Warning Shot will cut their defenses around a half. With only 80ish defenses left, the damage you and your friends do goes up A LOT.
I have to also give credit to the original poster. Pistoleers complaining about damage and range should really consider the excellent crowd and attack control specials they have. Pistoleers that don't like it should pick up another ranged profession.
I dont see Pistoleers saying damage is an issue, range is and only because of the legacy model for ranges we have after the CU implementation.
Pistoleer is a fantastic profession, we dont have that many bugs or issues but I'm always all over them anyway. ![]()

My only straight out complaint about damamge is the DE-10 which should do more for as rare as it is and for the amount of resources we have put into it. I think most people's complaints is that damage is more applicable than our specials. You know where we take even harder hits?
Try going up against any type of droid... and our when we use our "specials" we see.....

Don't think a rifleman will see "IMMUNE" on head shot. Again my point is we have many limitations that effectivly reduce our effectiveness due to the actual opponent. Where as damage specials (that deliver high end damage) won't see the same restrictions.
Keep in mind that these are the things that are supposed to balance us, yet we don't get to use them in the toughest of situations.
- Fix DE-10 dmg.
- Fix Root to break on dmg
- Add a Root AOE for Carbineers
- Add more AOE Specials to Carbineers and Pistoleer
- Give a bit more defence to Pistoleers or add a "duelist Stance " or "Center of Being" type of Special.'
And there, game fixed. I *think* everyone would be happy if all that was fixed.

Do you mean missing or state application? If I really want stopping shot to stick I eat some crispic, drink some pyro and/or use pistol accuracy +10 stims before I fire it, if I really want states to stick I use CM shock.
In Pub 19 Overwhelming Shot from smuggler will do the same thing as shock so Pistoleers can grab either move if they want to specialise in state application.

1. at least needs to be brought up to FWG5 standards, that way pistoleers have a great kin and enegy weap
2. then its not a root, but a mezz.
3. if you want an aoe root, use stopping shot with a flamethrower. unfortunately that's what commando has been relegated to, a toolbox proffession.
4 carbineer is aoe, pistoleer is more a 1 vs 1 deal, makes sense in rl, its actually faster to switch targets with a carbine than a pistol. what pistoleer needs is a very close range shot with a similer damage multiplier to sniper shot, (a bit less though) that has no warm up, can be done while moving, but has a very long cooldown timer. maybe 2x as long as snipershot. It wouldn't bring pistoleer up to damage standards as a rifleman, or swordsman, but it would make people think twice about getting up close and personal with a master pistoleer.
5. pistoleers need more pistol defense, but it shouldn't be enough to infringe on BH tanking role.
there are never simple fixes for this stuff, and I'm sure there are a great many more issues that all proffessions have. If you want an earful, ask caile what armorsmith needs fixing.
make sure you have a couple months free though.

Heres the thing pre cu I'm able to hold my own even with out bh pistols then I pick up MBH dropping ch (which got the shaft) I still do ok but there are other combos that out dam me but I ok cause I can still hold my own. Then the cu hits along with the respec and I find that pistoleers have now gotten the shaft and everyone can do the same specials but with better weapons??? so not only does my guildy who had a bas ass t21 pre cu out damage me but he does it using some of my specials??? That has got to make you mad.
