Master Pistols, Master Combat Medic, BH 0040


I lead with a ranged poison or fire DOT, then underhand shot for a KD. I make sure to land a thyroid rupture (speed debuff)and possibly the other fire or poison DOT while they're down. From there the sky's the limit as far as states go with all the CM stuff i can do. If they heal, i can land confusion shot. I might do that anyway.

I'd love to see some other MP/MCM template suggestions. I just finished the this template minus the remaining skill points and I'm unsure as to what I should spend them on. It seems that the two choices are either BH or Doc. Any other suggestions? I'm leaning towards Doc right now but I feel like I need more damage output and BH should help there.

You could also do 44xx Rifles or x44x Carbs or MMarksman 3xxx Rifles. I like the later one for the well roundedness of it.

I'll give some opinions on my favorite templates.

MBH/MP/0404SL -
I loved this template for the defense, insane amounts of it. I believe the most viable template if you want to tank as a ranged fighter. Both melee and ranged defenses go into the mid 500's, andgeneral accuracy and speed get a boost from the tactics tree. The extra abilitiesfrom SL are lessglorious than other combinations, but if you hunt in groupsor with a droid, Volley Fire will add 15% to your damage output. This template holds its own against healing or damage templates with its damage mitigation, allowing you to last a long time with good armor.

MBH/MP/0440Carb -
The lure of this template is damage from Leg Shot and snare from Crippling Shot. Alternating between Adv Crit and Imp Leg gives you the highest damage combination possible. Stopping Shot, Crippling Shot, Underhand/Charge Shot make you unbeatable against a melee opponent. All in all, a very popular and very effective template.

Adding Combat Medic to MBH/MP will let yousurvive through healing, adding Squad Leader will let yousurvive through damage mitigation (you can stand toe-to-toe with a melee opponent and feel safe), and adding Carbineer will let you survive through never being hit (soloing Krayt/Gorax/DJM without ever being touched).

Master Smuggler, Master Pistoleer, Combat Medic 4/0/0/0

Very nice support profession, you can help groups very well.

You have a powerful snare, a root, two dazes, you can heal the group and yourself very well plus you have all the pistoleer stats you can apply. Damage output is not great but decent.

I (and the guys I usually fight with) do really like this very group oriented template.

I've played with a couple of Pistoleer Templates:


Master Pistoleer / Master Bounty Hunter / Combat Medic 0-0-0-4


Pros:


Damage - Advanced Critical Shot / Body Shot


Crowd Control - Underhand Shot (Knockdown)

Stopping Shot (Root)

Electroly Drain (Snare)

Paralyze(Major Daze)

Disarming Shot (Minor Daze)


Debuffs- Thyroid Rupture (Combat Speed Debuff)

- Intimidate Shot(Lowers opponent damage output)

- Warning Shot (Lowers Defense)

- Confusion Shot (Dizzy/Stun - Good before a K'D. As you need to Dizzy Recover first before K'D' Recover. Uses up about 40% action to recover coupled with a K'D)


Damage Mitigation - Duelist Stance (+250 Defense)

- Healing (600-1K depending on HE Shirt or Droid)


Armor Choice - Kinetic(Assault) for Melee PVP or Energy (Recon) for Jedi/Ranged PVP


Cons:Best effectiveness is within 35m Pistol Range, and during PVP that is within in Saber Throw Range

Accuracy Low 200's - Need Deuterium Pyro to land important shots such as Root

High reliance on tapes to make Bio-Suppresion states to stick (i.e. ED/Thyroid Rupture)

Low healing Efficiency (Again need tapes)



Overall not a high damage dealer (modified DPS mid 500's) or a Debuffer (Stick ratesabout 60-75%)but overall a jack of all trades and okay all-around PVE/PVP template. I notice that with my pistol and good terrain negotiation clothing (+15 terrain negotiation) I can kite easily using Electrolyte Drain, especially through rough terrain. It's really good to use terrain to your advantage.

Volley Fire (+15% Damage for 40 seconds)

Overwhelming Shot (States Stick more often) (Highly Important!)

Other- Fake Death!


Cons: Lacks Healing and Must rely on Stims.


Other bonus: - Renegade Pistol/Intimidator Pistol/Totchee Pistol/Perfectly Calibrated Pistol


Overall a fun template that is just king of crowd control. This is a fun template for grouip PVE and PVP. Damage dealing is good (Totchee Pistol Modified DPS low 600's). Accuracy and Defense are okay, although you can tank for a bit using melee strike and center of being. It doesn't have healing so one-on-one PVP it's not as viable, although with the right combination of dazes you can heal. This is fun as a non-gimped base busting template.Or group grind. With this you canearn 900k combat XP and 1.5M Pistol XP till you cap. Also you can take out ranged NPC's no problem as you can use a blackhand annihalator and crowd control strays from 60m and Volley Fire targets for your group.



Again Pistols are my ranged weapon of choice as you can quickly run from one place to the other. The only bad thing is that your within ranged of Saber Throw and must always rely on parwan to keep up with force run. (Then I digress...)


Anyways, I love Pistols, and the more pistols I get to use the better.

There's also MPistoleer MBH and Novice Doc. It has quicker heals than some of the CM templates and is better for tanking.

Only major problem I ever run into with this is that with my current FWG5 I pull aggro like a fiend, since 99% of the time I'm outdamaging everyone in my group including BH's and Mrifleman. And well, I don't take a hit so good so I've gotten really quick at using my FD to keep myself alive. Other than that though I'm really happy with this combo. And I gotta say, the lag-o-tron Launcher pistol from Novie. Commando's really nice for laying down states in a large group.

MBH/MP/Smuggler 4000


I have been a Master Bounty Hunter for way over a year and a half but always had my love for Pistols. Dabbled in Pistoleer 0043 when i still needed Master Marksman and MasterScout to be MBH and laterwent Master Pistoleer the same day they dropped Master Scout as requirments. Pre-CU i found this template very pleasing cause i loved using small arms and just the way it works. I acually retired my longBounty Hunting carriere and quit SWG for a cuple months 3-4days after they released the CU cause it really messed up things! (comparing Pistoleer profession to Carbineer or Rifleman post-CU is hard)


My dreamy DE-10 converted to a mere shadow of its former self, bolts no longer were Blue but the cheesy Red ones. But i came back thanks to some friends when RotW came out! So i have spent the last months now relearning my template post-CU, and now when they dropped Master Marksman as requirment for i finally went Smuggler. Its not the same as it once was cause i always wanted to dabble in the Smuggler Profession pre-CU for the KD, Intimidate Shot and the most damaging Pistol Special. Now its pritty much defencive.

Something quick and simple to say about Smuggler 4000 (Underground IV)is:

ConcussuinShot you get at Novice Smuggler is very handyforControl. The 20sec mezz makes it easier to fight more then one target at once, taking one "out of the game" when you rip the other one apart and when fighting more then two Melee people, you can ConcussionShot one, StoppingShot one so those two are out of " temerary service"! PanicShot is pritty much DisarmingShot but is interesting as a opening special to give you time for a Advanced Critical before you eventually KD or what ever, i have notised it confuses people cause they think they lag or hang up... Last but not least is Last Ditch, the name says it all - This is at last really a last ditch. I would recommend not using this special until you have 500 or less of your health pool left and in PvP, itsnot reallyso usefull in PvE - I have also notised that one shot incapping isnt uncommon if fighting somone unarmored or you have a really powerfull Pistol and some good Accuracy!

My current BH template is Master BH / Master Pistols / Master Marksman / Novice Rifleman / Carbines x/1/x/x



I keep a supply of Stim D's on hand for healing. I don't PvP so I have no idea how this would work in that environment.
