no it dont depend.

compared to all other combat professions, pistoleer ist by far the worst.
sure you can hunt enemys with light armor...but every other combat prof will be better at it.

master pistoleer is just a base to build off of with either novice commanado,desperado or rogue only then is pistols any good.

Well since I am a smuggler I do use my smuggler abilities a good bit. I use the fact that I can feign death, last ditch, low blow, and intimidate. I use these things but with pistoleer I use health shot 2 and fan shot a good deal. I think master pistoleer hold its own in pve esspesially since we have a range of differentweapons that we can use.

I think we pretty much blow when it comes to PvE. I dunno bout you guys but i get out-damaged in the geo cave and mandolorian bunker EVERYTIME. theres simply no point to even go, plus we dont have the damage output to solo them so thats out of the question.

As for PvP we're okay. on 1v1 duels we can hold our own, but when you start factoring in anyone thats buffed once again we dont have the damage output to take em down before they can take us out.

Solutuion? Well ive seen every other profession with what seems to be uber weapons, wheres pistoleers piece of this pie? And out of like 10 or so specials only 3 of them are even usable. somethign needs to be done abou this.

Thats a fair point, all I do in high end places like the DWB is run about tanking stuff for others and lobbing poison, bit of a waste of time for me to shoot at anything other than Thugs andAssassins, and in the corvette I just stack poisons and jump in a lift then go back and fire a few healthshot2's when the mobs have ticked down.

Geo caves I only ever go to to GTEF with a BH and killcamping jedis.

Krayts I stack and swoop away, repeat...

When itcomes to grinding xp for FS (which I had a go at recently just to see how long 4 more lines would take me) if pba2 and MTPS worked properly you could just spam a lair with it.

It certainly is a frustrating profession, but I think we can get by if not in direct competion with other classes, as yeah, then we suck.

The key to PVE is a good Geo, buffs, brandy and spam fanshot or stopping shot with bleeding shot, healthshot1, healthshot2 and torso shot in the begining. Dont forget to run and shoot lol

Pistoleer by it's self is utterly useless in mid-high end combat. Try the geno lab, high level NS (elder, protector, weaver, stalker), the vette, or the DWB and be amazed at your own gimpyness. Solo a 60k HAM AR2 35% kin/100% other mob with a 150 max damage AP0 striker? LOL good luck and I'll see you in a couple hours if you survive. Even with BH pistols it's underpowered in PvE due to lack of AP and damage per second.

Even at low level of PvE, a rifleman will solo it 3-4 times faster then you will.

Carbineer is a bit better, but it doesn't have a kinetic weapon. Rifleman is the king of ranged PvE and PvP.

you are all on crack. Pistoleer is a great support Prof. Torso shot is ill. I made a macro for it and when i go krayt hunting all i do is turn on that macro. like 1000 dmg per sec. good part is that it only does health dmg. that was with a decent gun too. the good thing here is the FIRE dot. I have pwned a master swordsman/Master fencer/Master brawler when i didnt have a health buff. all i did was use my geo and kited. he was fully buffed. torso shot does like 250 dmg in PVP and it has a dot. speed capped pistols with 250 every sec + 255 dot ticking every 5 secs about.

...and with a DoT weapon that's extemely rare. Read the topic, it's PvE not PvP. Pistols < everything else in PvE.

There is very little use for high end PvE as far as pistoleer goes, thats just how it is.

I figured back in the day with some good stacking/defense mods i'd be very powerful, despite the borked nature of pistoleer..

i was wrong, and i wasted a lot of time messing around with pistoleer, which eventually led to me quitting the game

I've never had money for a unber de-10, so maybe with a good one you can....

But from my higher end scatter pistols, the damage output is simply horrible, try to solo kwis in the geno bunker with one....

About Soloing anything. I can do it.I can solo nearly anything i want to, even though i have no medic skills (if i take buffs and brandy and a standart (80k60b) composite). I can solo 4 Enranged Rancors taking my geo blaster, though i sometimes have to throw in some food.

WIthout buffs i can solo about 2-3 Stormtroopers. I grant that i cant solo more than one ns as they do a lot of melee damage and i hvae no melee damage mitigation (or however it is spelled).

In fact if you are in a group you can do a comparable damage output to a rifleman and a carbineer using fan shot as long as the beasts are tanked by someone, so that they stay together within your damage area.

One advantage about being a pistoleer is that you can choose between a lot of damage types so in pve you find nearly always some kind of low resistance.
