Thread: speed cap'd at master?....doesnt look like it

74 at master will not speed cap on anything except maybe like a 1.0-1.2 gun maybe

Im too lazy to go to Rem's dsp thingy

Why are you all trying to campare Professions.. Maybe it's just becuase I am BH and have to use weapons from different groups.


I don't think Pistoleer or Carbineer, were ever meant to be the ONLY profession you for combat skills. I mean your missing out a large group of possible combinations that will in a big way effect your PVP experience.


As for PVE, well.. the only profession that I have don't PVE with that I absolutely couldn't stand was Smuggler..( not counting Medical, Artisan, Scout, Entertainer or their elite professions)


I have taken out Rifleman.. had Rifleman go Melee on me because of it. A carbineer that relies solely on his Carbine for every situation can tell you sometimes he wishes he had a pistol, and if your a Master Pistoleer your only best bet for most speed is BH.


with over 100 Speed and Accuracy I can max out speed on every pistol I pick up, and never have to worry about Speed or Damage Slice..


I can understand the comments about AP, but honestly considering what a pistol is, i wouldn't exxpect then to have an AP of higher than 1. And if you want to compare AP of Professions Carbineers have one weapon that has AP higher than 1, the Laser Carbine, which they get from Marksman.


Rifleman I will agree are pretty powerfull in PVP, Heavy AP and fair speed they can be.


All i am suggesting is that Carbineer, Pistoleer, and Rifleman weren't meant by the pure nature of the weapons they specialize in to be balanced..


As for the speed issue, a most pistols I come across are 2.0-2.5 speed, if your a master Pistoleer, your not far from cap. With a speed slice, some SEAs, or even FS skills, your golden. Where as if they gave you another 15-20 points of speed, just about every pistoleer would be max with every pistol in the game.


But I am just looking form the perspective of a MBH/Carbineer/Pistoleer.. With +125 Pistol Speed and +113 Carbine Speed.


with a Rifle .. i suxors hardcore.. lol

Don't really look at it like being "jedi crap". I look at it as a way to further your skills after you master a profession. Picking up some of the extra skills in fs can be very helpful and cost relativly low in skill points. I have no interest in making my character jedi but to only enhance what he already has(picking up ranged/melee defence, and ranged speed and accuracy) Plus it is also fun to actually have something to do with your experience again. (I havent recieved xp in months untill now)


Now saying that SOE is punishing you because you are not interested in something is down right silly. You could say that for everything. Im not interestedin the DWB but want a DE-10 so I get punished for it. I could go on and on.


Dont look at the village asa jedi only thing. There are someprettycool quests there. Hell, I'll being doing all of the different quest thatI can do throughout thevillage cycles.Getting skills this way is alot more excessable then buying skill tapes that can cost millions.

Bh's may have better speed, but they are lacking defences.

personally i feel that ALL RANGEDcombat professions need to be off the speed cap by at least 15points.. it gives us the player more scope/depth to any profession other than just mastering it. it bugs me that riflemen only need +7 "i think" to speed capp and pistol needs more when we are suppose to be the faster combat proff.


i have built my char with +25 in pistol speed "i know i dont need 25 but hey "+25 in allaccuracy and +25 in dodge and love it, itsets me apart from the other purepistola masters and gave me something to work towards after i mastered this great proff

Understatement of the thread right there.


Master carbineer w/o bounty carbines comes in at +60 carbine speed. Even maxxing on tapes up to +85 will require a carbine with a speed less than 2.8s to hit the speed cap on all specials. For those unfamiliar with carbines, to geta laser carbine down that far without a speed slice or speed powerup requires good krayt tissue and a form-fitted stock.


Compare that to pistoleer. With just +16 in pistol speed attachments, I'm just coming off the speed cap with my slowest pistols (2.9s DE-10 and geo) on my slowest specials (last ditch and stopping shot).


It could always be worse. We could be carbineers.

Carbines aren't capped, Rifles aren't capped (But close), Commandos are FAR from capped. Watch the blanket statements. Carbines can cap by going up the BH tree(sound familiar?), and rifleman can cap by mastering marksman. Commandos are just stuck where they are.

Yeah i agree with this guy, the only profs that are capped at master are fencers and tka's. Swords need and extra 20, rifle +7, pistoleer +20 or so, carb +25 i believe, pike +25 i think too. Your best bet right now is to either buy a pre-nerf ubese badnolier, ubese shirt, or mabari belkt with pistol speed already in it. Well actually your best bet would be to get the +12 ranged speed from the FS quests at the village.



fine id like to restate the post-
i would like to be able to use my specials without having to get a pistol with 1.2 speed, i do not wish to completly max out on pistols.i would just like to have it a little better then it is now that could match... lets say a rifleman speed wise. im just talking speed, every one knows the damage rifleman has is rediculasly high and needs to be lowered.
on the whole "buy armor and/or clothing attachments" subject i would just like to say i dont think its right to spend a ton of money on something that should be there already for free.
