Cool. Sounds like my currentstyle anyway- /lowblowing, /panicshotting, /peacing.i have 2decide between staying master pistoleer/rogue or regrinding for master smug/gunfighter. i cantmaster 'em both cuz i masterd SW and surrending thats not really an option considering the grind it was on me.
i dont have access to swg til may =/

Guys, i was as pissed as the rest of you at first... i mean common... CROWD CONTROLL???? but heres how im trying to look at it..
Firstly no matter what its called, basicly pistoleers will have a array of state attacks, stun, intimidate, dizzy, kd, ect... with no real damage specials... ok that sucks... BUT, if you mix it with some other proffesions that do (remember specials are not limited by weapons now) you have a potent variaty of options in combat... by mixing pistoleer with a damage dealing/defensive proffesion you now have a completly viable and deadly combo... even if the damage specials you aguire arnt that good, you can debuff intimidate, pin down and then deal damage.... and if you have noticed most pistols now do much more damage then they did b4... i dont think being a pistoleer will be the easiest proffesion in the game, but was it ever? it always took skill to be a great pistoleer... but then again thats why i picked it, i like it when im thought of as a non-threat then beating the crap out of my opponent to there dismay....

pistoleer is meant to kinda "lay states"
here is a list of some pistoleer specials
lowblow= confuses the animals (makes them run around like they are drunk) and slows em down CONFIRMED
stoppingshot= stops the animals/npc's/whatever from moving CONFIRMED
confusionshot= (now pistoleer) can confuse and dizzy opponents
underhandshot (now pistoleer) can knock enemies down. CONFIRMED
bodyshot= slightly higher damage CONFIRMED
critical shot= (master bh shot) quite a bit higher damage CONFIRMED
we lose eye shot to llc in bh.
what i imagine pistoleer to be with this info is that the pistoleer will lowblow target, stoppingshot target, switch to rifles, spam headshot lol.
that's not how i pictured pistols, i pictured them more as a close range nuker/tank with no states lol.

Iwill advertise that underhandshot does, in fact, knockdown an opponent. I've been underhanded several times in the CU.

This is my prediction and not a shot at anyone just pointing out different styles. I think everyone that is looking for a less tactical approach to combat will take the high damage profs like swordsman/rifleman ect. But the people that like tactics will take pistols/smuggler/carbs ect. I really think that it will take more than jsut mastering a prof to be good at pvp, you will ahve to know your prof and specials and others profs and specials adn know how to take them out. Furthermore I think that you will see people that learn their profs/specials stand out in PVP regardless of what their prof is. I honestly think that if you learn a prof/specials you will be very good at pvp where as teh less talented folks do not stand out. It may take a while for a pistoleer to defeat an oponent cause of the lack of high powered shots but with intim our defenses and the "shut down" specials we will be able to hold our own against foes with the high end shots. And lets not forget that range specials cross over now. So if you were master pistols/master rifles you could use your high end shots with your pistols. I for one LOVE the fact that Pistols is crowd control and BH is tank. I really feel like if I learn these profs well enough I will be able to go in there and shut down the riflemen/commando types. But you never no. If you dont like the fact that they dubbed you "crowd control" then you should just leave the prof and find one that has a cool name like "nuke" and go rifleman.

They didn't get the E. Professions, they just used the/ command exploit in PVP to see what they're like. With a CDEF. lol.

Crowd Control means an instand drop proffesion, like who the hell wants to next to no damge and for what, a 10 second delay?

Hint time for my fellow pistoleers....
You can use any of the pistoleer specials in the CU right now by typing out the command. So make a macro with something like /healthshot and place it on the toolbar and test it out.
The intimidate shot works. Now nunas can only hit me for 100-200 points of damage rather then 200-300 points lol.

Do you know something the rest of us dont? How do you know we will do "next to no damage"? You DONT know. If you dont want this prof, drop see you later, please stop polluting us with your negativeness.

because in the listing for professions profiles pistols offensive power is only 1 step above master dancer might be the reason many are feeling this way.

So what. Who cares what the numbers say. Try it out before you freak out. Did you forget that you will be able to do other profs specials with your pistol. And dont say that you dont want to have to pick up another prof to do high damage shot, cause you will have to, do you really think you will be uber with just one combat prof?
