Its in the old FAQ, but I couldn't find the stats for Kip-up Shot in there (marksman special). I know someone has the stats for Kip-Up somewhere. Also, I think the stopping shot dmg listed in FAQ v 1.0 is wrong, and its now considered to have a dmg modifier of 5.0. Check out Philosopher's posts for the latest word.

Kip-up shot is 2.5/1.5. Yes, Kip-up shot has an uncapped DPS equal to Fanshot and higher than anything else in the Pistoleer tree. But you should use BS2 over Kip-up Shot in PvE anyway.

You are correct on Stopping Shot -- it is 5.0/4.0.

Fan Shot is better dps/ham than any shot we have (even on one target). Same cost as BodyShot2.

Wow, that's good know! Should silence all the people who say we don't have a single "best" special!

Would anyone like to update the old list of speed/dmg specials from the 1.0 FAQ? It would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

But that doesn't take into account the fact that BodyShot2 is targetted while FanShot is random HAM.

In my opinion the distinction is more important in PvP than PvE. In PvP you want to target a pool whereas in PvE you want to do as much damage to earn as much xp as possible in as short a time as possible. That's where Fanshot is superior.

Well that depends on the situation as well. Even in PvE, targetted is often better. Let's say, for instance, and I'm soloing Pikets on Dantooine. Since I get the max xp per kill anyway, I just want to kill it faster so I can move to the next Piket as soon as possible. The same is true when I'm not worried about XP and just want to kill the critter/NPC that is chasing me.

Untargetted shots are best in a group setting (including pets), since you want to get the most XP from the group.

Hey Phil, do you have suggestions/changes? I think most of us have been waiting for you to arrive to give feedback...

Also when are you going to make this a sticky?

In pve this is sometimes true, but in the time that it takes for you to kill one picket and then turn focus and kill the other with targeted shotsyou can potentially kill both at the same time with fan shot. Even with it's randam HAM hits at master it fires so fast that targeting one pool really doesn't matter much at all. The only problem here is now creatures that attack in unison will flank you and thus keeping one of them out of the fan shot radius.....but this is easily compensated for by walking or running away from both. Pistoleers are still more accurate than any other profession on the moveso running is not that much of a disadvantage to us.

Using fanshot, i've taken down multiple yellow cons all at once while running away from them. If I was to use targeted shots, I guarantee that it will take longer to disperse the whole mob (this is of course in those times when you fail to single pull).

The only time I think targeted is indeed better in pve is when you have a mob that cons red to you and you need to kill them off to lessen the damage you will take from each one combine (shouldn't be fighting more than one red at a time anyway). I typically use other shots like suppression fire, threaten shot, warning shot (don't work much on red cons) and pistolmeleedefense 1 to try and break up the mob and keep them out of melee range on me, then go back to fanshot while keeping them all in the cone area of my shots.

since the multiple shots that fanshot does is not reduced like pointblank area is, you are actually hitting all in the cone for loads of damage, even though it's hitting random ham.....getting any HAM bar low enough on a npc or creature and they will retreat.....and since we don't have specials that specifically target mind and action, fanshot is great when you have mobs that their lowest HAM bar is either action or mind.

/overChargeShot2 is similar to /bodyShot2, but it does a lot more damage to your weapon so you should move on to /bodyShot2 when you get it.

is it just me, or is overchargeshot2 a special u get as master marksman, not pistoleer?!

oh btw. something is missing here,i would like you guys too know.

i just love hold-out blast! (first pistoleer tree, forth box) - it as point blank shot, and combined with a dx2 it does pretty much damage (i think) every second, with only minor ham drain - it isn't area tough....

well it was good enough to out damage a TKA master - look for yourself
