Thread: ok this is really starting to tick me off!!!
I'm working on mastering Pistoleer right now (at 2/3/4/3) and I've found that a good set of doctor buffs, some brandy, a set of composite armor and a trip to a good hunting planet (I like Dathomir) will lead to about 100,000 xp /hour. I try to go solo since I get all the XP that way. The best is when my doctor friend comes along to cure my disease/dizzy and lets me do most of the killing.
I can generally get a pistol box/night using this so I expect to hit Master Pistoleer fairly soon.
As far as the profession goes, it could definately use some fixing and the sooner the betterbut I have to admit I am really enjoying Pistoleer. Of course, I like fighting in close as it compliments our group's riflemen very well so I don't mind it when things close with me. Andit is really funny having something big charge you (particularly Banthas) and then timing a PistolWhip just right so they fall over right as they get to you.
Words of advice: Make sure the pistol (or any weapon for that matter) you are usinghits the weakness of the creature you are fighting...And you might want to think about upgrading yourequipment....I rolled thrupistoleer onceI got fanshot, using a FWG5 and RB (love everything about this gun, except the way it looks...It looks like a condom to me)...There are some really good guns out there that arent too expensive. And dont forget, fanshot, when hitting a mob"shares" the damage around with the other creatures within its range...

I am climbing the pistoleer ladder and i have found it highly frustrating when my clan mates just starting TKA, master it in a 2-3 weeks and I have been working on pistols since January 1. So, the multiple target feature of Fan Shot seems pretty limited in value.
I am only 1-1-4-2 in pistoleer, so I will save final judgement when I finish, still, it seems the offensive power of this profession is pretty poor. From the defensive end, TKA also recovers faster from incapps and can heal wounds themselves. I would think that was okay if PvE targets stayed out at range, but they close to point blank rapidly anyway and we take hits just as frequently as TKA .

I started pistoleer on tuesday and I'm 0404, get buffed and do savage quenker missions on dant. I expect to be finished by sunday. I am not a powergamer at all. I play at most 3 to 4 hours a day, a few more hours on the weekend.
