Thread: So pistoleer LACKS becose of Bounty Hunter?
"so BH can obtain these weapons easily and the still have 18 points left to take something else. Pistoolers have no chance (master pistooler) to take any of the BH pistol tree."
???
What prevents a Master Pistoleer from getting the BH pistol tree? All he has to do is master scout and marksman. That leaves 33 skill points (same as MBH)--more than enough for BH pistols.
Ah, but I see. You don't want to spend your skill points on Master Scout and Master Marksman. That's your choice, whereas bounty hunters don't have a choice.
Pistoleer specials should be fixed. No doubt about that. In the meantime, nothing preventsa pistoleerfrom getting the BH specials if you're willing to spend SP on scout and marksman. Combine pistoleer defenses with BH specials and you've got a solid template--not uber but solid, for pvp as well as pve.
Also, keep in mind that one of the BH trees doesn't grant any combat skill mod,and thata MBH who dabbles in pistoleer can't get all the pistoleer's defenses (states, dodge, and melee).
There's nothingfundamentally unfair about thatwith, considering that BH's get carbine and llcskills, and speedas wellaccuracy in the same trees.
But a Master Pistoleer and a MBH are in similar positions. If they dabble in the other profession, they end up withtemplates of more or less the same strength: slightly more offensive punch for the MBH, and better defenses for the Master Pistoleer.
If you have to pick on a profession, please focus on rifleman

Pistoleer won't compare with Commando or Bounty Hunter well because a master pistoleer will have 158 skill pts left where a commando will only have 81 skill pointsand a bounty hunter will only have 33 skill pts left.
Don't think you're as strong as a BH, use the extra point you have to get there.
Alrighty, as for BHs, here's my generic answer to that line of thinking:
"If you want to discuss the use of SP, be my guest - let's look at the elite combat professions first - it takes 92 SP to master each one, all of which go into combat skills.
Now, Bounty hunter, it takes 217 SP to master, 77 of which are spent on master scout, 14 of which are spent on the investigation tree. This leaves 126 SP spent on combat ability, which is split three ways between carbine, pistol and LLC. meaning that 42 SP has been spent on each equally.
That means BHs should, going on just SP, be proficient as with each weapon as a Novice elite profession with one and a half skill boxes. ( 0-0-1-0 )
You may have noticed BHs are infact much better than this with each weapon they are able to use - so please, don't use the age old argument about SP requirements for BH"
As for Commando, couldn't agree more, as all their requirements are combat. A Master Commando should (tactical geniouses aside) defeat a pure elite combat master. Then again, a master commando vs say a tripple master should have their hands ful and possibley be at a disadvantage.
The DEVS consider scout to be a combat profession ![]()
and inv. gives def for the bh
so it is 217
And the dead horse goes around and around, the dead horse goes all around!
Come on sing it with me, altogether now!!

If that's the case, then it seems the Dev's seem to have a messed up aproach to
- Assigning value to skill points and professions
- Implementing Star Wars mythology in game - Commando takes up less SP and should I think be (profession v profession) the best combat profession in the game.
I just hope they fix BH's content (and every other profession's for that matter) aswell as bring things more in line. You would have thought it would have made more sense requiring say ranged support from marksman and trapping from scout, rather than master of both and have the class more content orientated instead of being full of combat (more akin to whatSmugglers are trying to get in their revamp.. only, BH esq). Ah well, they're game, their design concepts I guess.

the bh pistol tree is more powerful than master pistoleer so pistoleer is really bad, but combine them and you are in buisness...people complain about getting BH pistol and master pistoleer but i find its awsome, got mind shot, geo pistol...i have like 131 spd, and i can shoot mind shot 4 times in 1-2 seconds with my scatter (1.7 spd) and 3 times with my geo. i have done some dmg with it. accuracy is way up. torso shot is awsome, stopping shot, fan shot, pistol whip...so pistoleer does lack skill by itself, which is a major problem
