Thread: BH vs Pistoleers, better?
But to get a player bounty, to track them, find out where they live, find out their movements and hangouts.......................
I have to agree with this and the original poster here. BH has too many other skills to be able to compare to a pistoleer. They -should not- stand up to a full fledged weapons master.
If a Master BH should be better with a pistolthan a Master Pistoleer, then by that same logic he should be better than a Master Carbineer and a Master Commando.
In other words it should take 3 people combined (3 Master combat professions) to even come close to the abilities of a single masterBH? Yea right... BH's need to get a sanity check.
Using your western archtypes against the game mechanics we can address this rather simply:
John Wayne = bounty hunter w/pistoleer (since I'm assuming in the movies he does nothing else but hunt outlaws he'd put his extra points in whatever weapon he used the most)
Billy the Kid = pistoleer w/bounty hunter (once again since the only thing he does is shoot people why waste his extra skill points on medic/entertainer/etc when he'd try to get as many in his weapon of choice as possible)
I can see now why your conclusion is that it would be an even match, since they're essentially the same SWG profession.
The points mean nothing. You cannot say, well a Bounty Hunter with Master Marksman, Master Scout, and level IV bounty pistol skill, is better than me! Because, if you faced a Bounty Hunter with only level IV Bounty Pistol, you'd win, hands down.
So they have +10 accuracy and +5 speed. You are saying that makes them better than a Master Pistoleer? Jesus christ.. I guess it's just hard for those whom kite around bugged creatures to realize the real story. You are better at using a pistol than a Master Bounty Hunter. You are not better at winning a fight than a fully fledged Bounty Hunter. That is the difference between your class, and his - and a fully fledged bounty hunter is almost dry on points to spend.. whereas you are not.
Ding.
