while I'm not sure I want a master pistoleer cert for the DL44 I do support it being moved up into the high level pistol ranks.

I agree that all the movie weapons should be very useful. After all, that's what the basic Star Wars fan has seen.

Why do you think in RotW we're getting ships from RotS? It's what people have seen, and that's what they wanna fly. It doesn't matter that the ships are 25 yrs old in SWG time to the average fan.

So I completely agree that the DL44 should be more useful, just not necessarily the bestest pistol in the game. After all, completely different genre, but James Bond uses a Walther PPK in all those movies, and that pistol is far from being the most powerful, lethal, accurate pistol on the planet.

Personally, I think the differences between the pistols themselves should be minimal. The skill of the user should be the major factor. Of course, I'm coming from the point of view of the d20 Star Wars system.

If anyone should get exclusive rights to DL44, it should be smugglers, as it's the iconic smuggler weapon made famous by Han Solo himself. I'd like to see it more powerful, but NOT an exclusively master pistoleer weapon.

Well, so close and yet so far...they beefed up the Metal DL44 to be competitive with some of the best pistols in the game (DL44 Metal, DE-10, Renegade, Intimidator, Alliance Disruptor, Scatter, Republic Blaster, FWG5, and DX2 all have dps of 263 or better now). Unfortunately, it's still a Master Marksman cert.

Weird the DX2 only does energy damage, yet they added acid to Republic Blaster, both certs are in same box...you'd think they'd keep the acid with the DX2.

Anyway, I think they should switch the graphics on the DX2 and Republic Blaster, so the acid damage is on the DX2 like we're used to, then switch the graphics on the DL44 Metal and the Republic Blaster so we PISTOLEERS can use it without picking up all of Marksman!

I mean really, sign or don't sign...but are these /antisign people actually saying they think the Republic Blaster looks better than the DL44? That's all I'm saying - I want a cool, Star-Wars-looking gun at Master Pistoleer...strange, I know!

My antisign had nothing to do with the Republic. It had to do with making a DL-44 exlusively a pistoleer weapon. That's a horrible idea.

And, yes, I'm a longtime master pistoleer.

the issue methinks is that the DL44 is such an iconic weapon that the devs want is certed lower so that it has more avalability.

If any one profession should have it certed to them, it should be Smuggler, not Pistoleer.

I think any pistol-wielding profession should be able to use it, and it should be more powerful than it is currently in Live.
