well their plan is to release a new patch with several fixes, nerfs, some new content and tweaking and a couple weeks later a new dungeon will come out
with publish 8, the ID revamp will have next week sometime (i believe) and the death watch dungeon the following week
the idea behind this is to have a new dungeon release halfway between each publish so wecan have stuff to constantly look forward to instead of a bunch of new content every month
I think they said the Scatter wasn't available to us because it's a highly illegal weapon (so is just about everything in SWG technically, but they aren't caught in the contraband scans for "fun" reasons). Think of us as the good guys and the BH's as a bunch of thugs who kill for money and use illegal arms.
We don't have the Launcher because it's a heavy-ish weapon.
The weapons are really symbols of the professions that have them, soI don't think they'd like us running around with them. On the other hand, aren't we the Master of Pistols? Pick up any pistol and use it with ruthless efficiency?
Sinceour desire to have them is in direct conflict their desire to keep the weapons exclusive and there are good arguments on both sides, I'd like to compromise on us just having so many otherkick asspistols that not only do we forget all about it, they drool overour weaponsand how cool we are. ![]()
While it is true that most every weapon in SWG is to some degree illegal, the excuse that the Bounty Hunters need to have an illicit weapon does not wash. Behold if you will the description of our own massively illegal Tenloss DX-2 Disruptor Pistol from the Star Wars Guide to Weapons & Technology:
"Among the most controversial and reviled hand weapons in the galaxy, disruptors are energy weapons whose blasts are so powerful that they break down objects at the molecular level, leaving only a smoking pile of ash. These small handheld pistols can disintegrate a 1x1 meter durasteel plate up to a half meter thick, or penetrate force-fields, personal battle armour, and vehicle and starship hull plating. Against living targets, these weapons almost always cause instantaneous death, and even a glancing blast causes horribly painful injuries that must be treated immediately in order to prevent irreparable nerve damage.
...Disruptors are banned on most New Republic Worlds. On some planets, mere possession is grounds for the death penalty. And of course the Republic Blaster is hardly something to get way excited over. It bears this description under the title 'Typical Hold Out Pistol' in the Wizards of the Coast Star Wars d20 Arms & Equipment Guide:
"Just as Blas-Tech is best known for its DL-44 Heavy Blaster, Merr-Sonn dominates the hold out blaster market with the Q2. Lightweight, elegant, and functional, the Merr-Sonn Q2 is an almost expected accessory for the diplomat or noble who is unsure of his or her allies. The Q2 design is so widely favored that SoroSuub licensed the design from Merr-Sonn for its own nearly identical model. SoroSuub also used the design as a basis of its heavier ELG line of blasters."
Now... Thus far, I have found no reference to the DE-10 'Firefly' in any of my books. So that one's pretty much open to interpretation. I guess I'm somewhat excited to see that we're getting a Master Pistoleer only weapon. I'd surely hope that the stats seen on them already are no reflection of how the weapon will actually work during implementation of their unveiling and the combat balance. Given the hard and sandpapery shafting we got with the DX-2 back in the day (A gun that hardly reflects its history or implied degree of lethality), I'd certainly say we deserve a gun worth drawing. Or at least one we could defend ourselves with. For suggestions and ideas to that effect gun-wise, check the thread in my signature. Be good folks!

Yes, that is almost always the direct counterarguement to the "scatters are illegal" statement. Inearlymentioned the DX2 specifically because it is a disruptor (acid damage? huh?), but didn't. Very few weapons in SWG do what they should judging from the EU.
I've basically said what I want to say at this time, aside from this: Anything that goes on with these weapons is between Pistoleers, Bounty Hunters, and Commandos. Even if us getting something of theirs doesn't technically affect what they can do, it changes their image and howpeople think about them. It isn't all stats & numbers - some of it is emotional. For that reason, they are a factor.
And yes, I'm aware that some of uswant these weapons for emotional reasons. I hear you. But I also hear 2 communities that wholeheartedly don't want us to have them. They would put up stiff opposition, and so would the developers.
Again,I think we'll be happier about this once we have a bunch of cool stuff that nobody else has... lets pick our battles wisely.. now is definitelynot the time to bring it up..

BH get 2 class spicific items the LLC and the scatter PISTOL its not the point of wanting to use it and notbeing able to its the point that its a PISTOL and a Master PISTOLEER cant use it.
Pistoleer is the only class that cant use all the weapons that there name sake should grant them.
I have heard the well I am a commando and cant use the LLC. True you cant but dont you have your own Lighting cannon that does way more damage then the LLC.
I have also heard the rifleman well I cant use the bean cannon and that listed as a rifle true but it gives heavy weapon xp so its more then likely a dev mess up like the certs on the rep blaster.
But aside from all that Ithink a mainissue with pistoleer is that the speed doesnt seem to matter. I was a master pistoleer and I was getting of one shot off with my 1.1 pre nerf krayt FWG5 in the time it took a master rifleman to shoot his 5.4 jawa rifle 3 times. So is that all my extra + to speed doesnt mean jack when your shoting a 1.1 pistol or is the rifles + to speed so good that it will make a 5.4 speed weapon shoot like its a 1.1.

A prime example of this is with TKM they are so fast they get hits without swings. I was also a TKM at the same time and I would use the KD2 Dizzy1 combo2. All I was seeing was the combo 2 yet I was hiting and KD and dizzying my target. Yet if your a say swordman or pikeman and us do an attack like this you will see each hit.
I dont see why pistol cant produce the same speed and attack power. I mean for real look at the only weapons ATM that TKA can use a VK ap1 speed about 2.2 damage 147max yet I was dealing 1000s in damage in under 1 second.
My understanding of pistol vs rifle vs carb was that pistol was going to be the fastest with the least damage on a single hit rifle was going to be the slowest but deal trhe most damage in a single hit and carb was going to be in the middle dealing med. damge with med. speed. Yet I see day in and day out rifleman dealing the most damge with the fastest weapons.
Combat rebalance maybe. Ok we ll see how much of a stink is made about this when everyone is ajedi thanks to patch 9 and 10 good job guys way to put all the combat class on the back burner for a class that doesnt belong in the game and right through launch wasnt that big of a deal.
there are a lot of problems with your argument...... you completely contradicted yourself by saying we're the only class who doesn't get all the weapons of our class, yet the next paragraph you said commandos and rifleman don't get one......
commandos get a heavy lightning cannon, and the launcher pistol ALSO gives heavy weapons xp-
this is not a bug, this is intentional becausethe HAR and LPare COMMANDO weapons
also, as a TKM, you have ONE weapon....... we have a lot of weapons..... we have the only kinetic damage type rangedweapon, we're getting a master pistoleer weapon cert (no other profession in the game has this) with the new DE-10. we will have over 15 pistols.
i agree with randon..... we need to pick our battles- getting our specials fixed, greater accuracy
this just isn't something we need to argue about
if you REALLY want to use the scatter or the launcher, spend the skill points to get it
don't ask for something for nothing, the devs will NEVER agree to it

we get plenty from pistoleer...... we have four pistols that no one else gets plus over 10 more from marksman pistols
i call that something, and i call master pistoleer something, but you want something normal people have to spend 160 or 112skill points to get
i would call that something more, and getting what they get while only spending 92 skill points would be getting "something for nothing"
