Thread: Healthshot 1 and 2 nerf
I think the bleed shot/feign death combo was an intelligent and viable combat option.... it's called resourceful use of skills, not an exploit. I can understand the need ot nerft this in PvP, but in PvE why?
It is one of the few viable options for a soloing character to take on high level MOBs and have a chance in hell without havin' to resort to tanking with CH skills and pets. I for one don't want the responsibilty of takin' care of pets and all that crazy **edit**, so it was the only way for me to do missions worth monkey-**edit** and still make a decent buck. Don't call exploit on this one, cause it's one of the few skill combos we have that make us hold our own agaisnt some of the tanking professions, at least agaisnt MOBs. Give the solo player a break for a change and stop forcing us to team up with a group.
Groups are great and I love the social aspect of this game, but sometimes we just wanna go it alone, and we need somethin' to allow us to be able to survive on the advanced planets

I'm pretty happy too.Though I probably won't be fighting Kungas anymore (sighs, another nerf), I used to hate it when they'd bleed for 1200+ and I had to furiously heal my pet just to keep it from falling over dead after the fight (and before I could store it cuz of the 1min post-fight anti-store feature).
You guys ranting about not "wanting" to take CH's along to tank for you are being silly. You talk about tactics and combinations and skill use, yet you talk about CH's using theirs and it's like you're talking about hacking the SOE mainframe to earn credits.
Bleed/FD or Bleed/Runaway still lets you kill them after the bleed has done its work - simply stand up and shoot them once. This depends on timing and skill and is called a tactic.
The original poster is upset because it didn't kill the NPCafter incap. Thisdepends on getting lucky andluck and is calledluck.
There is a difference.
Don't get me wrong.... my post wasn't a flame against CHs... It was a simple example.... I could have just as easily said Commandos and and TKAs as I did CH.... It's just CH are a little more infamous for bein' tanking characters... I have absolutely nothin' against the CH profession; you too are usin' tactics that I think are accpetable and I didn't cry nerf like all the other cry-babies that did.... you have certain skills, therefore you use them to your advantege.... that's what combat is about... takin' on impossible odds and surviving.... There's not a **edit** thing wrong with that at all....
My issue is bein' DB'd in the middle of Dantooine in the middle of a mission and havin' to walk 12,000 m to get to the same spot again where the NPCs have respawned and the mission is a waste of my time. Bleeding has saved me the trouble of havin' to travel all the redundant distance time and time again to finish a simple mission to make some decent credits. I reapeat, not a flame against CH, or any other profession...
Chill and read my comments before you get all defensive about stuff.... learn to relax and enjoy the game.

Lemme just add some formatting for emphasis....

Gotta admit, sounds like you have a real disdain for CH...but I'll take your word for it that you didn't mean it.
Maybe I wrote out of context there... I was merely usin' an example.... it was a symantic argument
My sincere apologies for implying a flame against CH.... no offence was meant at all...
We're all one big happy family!!!! ![]()

I figure, he'll be down by the time he gets here to slay me, but NO, he isnt! He is 30 m away
If you said "feign death" in there and didn't refer to him dying before youget slain, then maybe it would sound more like feign death?
I find that a creature being taken down to 1 health from this "nerf" was a blessing in disguise.
How many times have you killed a creature/npc with bleed/feign only to not be able to loot it due to another high lvl creature/npc next to it that will kill you untill you kill it.
Now I just take them both down to 1 health and finish off with a bodyshot 2. Its cake and I like this new way although it takes some getting used to

The side benefit is that it eliminates a 'questionable' combat tactic. Personally, the tactic has been around for so long that any resulting damage is both neglible and irreversible. Future players get a diminished experience because of decisions like this. It doesn't make any internal sense for damage-over-time attacks to fail to kill a target. Then again, much of the game makes no sense within the game context.
