Well I really hope this duel wielding pistols comes to light, here is what I think.

I noticed that some of the current Pistoleer/MBH specials lend them selves to the use of Duel Wielding (MutlitTarget shot, SprayShot, Fan Shot). So adjust the old ones and add some new ones to fit. Some of the high precision shots (Eyeshot, StoppingShot, and all the bleeds) belong to the single pistol category. So it would be awsome to see the toon switching from duel pistol to single pistol in combat, may be too fast to see.


a. I hope along with this upgrade they also add holsters for the pistols.

b. I hope that the pistols do not need to be the same serial number, hard to find 2 de10s with the same serial number.

c. Add special finishing graphics, ie. spinnig the pistols on your toons fingers and sticking them back in the holsters.

d. I have to add this one too, it looked cool in the Matrix: Duel Pistol Area Shot- When surrended by mobs, the toon will hold the pistols 90 degrees and spin around in a tight circlewhile dodging. Maybe I am pushing it

Well heres another idea I had (yes I know its not dual wielding but someone else posted this idea earlier). PISTOL HOLSTERS!!! My god do we need them...I dont know about you but I'm tired of reaching into my backpack to pull out my pistol. BasicallyI figured they could actually have a purpose also. When you equip the holster you put a pistol into it (much like dragging something to a toolbar). Now when there is a pistol in the holster you keep the pistol holster on the toolbar instead of the pistol. By either clicking on the toolbar you set the type of attack you can do. When the holster is "turned off" you do not draw your pistol...instead (as long as no other weapon is equipped) you fight unarmed. When the holster is "turned on" though you will walk with nothing in your hand...but when engaging combat or when attacked you draw the weapon and instantly attack as normal. When the fighting is finished you reholster the weapon.


And just for fun put in a flourish as master pistoleer... at a low level you dont do any type of spin or something like that...maybe even slow down the draw. But at master pistoleer you pull some awesome type of spin and twirl and you draw the weapon without any delay in your attacks.

umm double the damage..

no pistol specials what so ever...

decrease the range..

lower accuracy..


I was in the military and i can say that firing dual pistols is harder than you think and hope to hit something smaller than a barn


i certainly do not think there should be ANY specials of any kind allowed while dual weilding


basicly its for close range damage combat not for picking people off at more than 30 meters


alot of you people wont agree to this but in my opinion that is what needs to be done if its gonna happen.. it will also keep dabblers away

i think having the same type of weapon would be good.. not the same serial though.. and maybe an extra high ham cost to specials.. or even maybe some extra specials just for duel wield..


and possibly either cut the damage rating or do like other games and make the off hand weapon 1/2 damage.. some penalties to accuracy would be fair but the total end amount of damage should still be considerably higher than singe wielding

i'm not reading all these pages, but why not just have it look like you have 2 pistols but you really only have one? or make it so theres 2 in your hands but you only fire alternatly,

As a Master Pistoleer i agree with all the both .

Especially if i can see my toon running around with two holsters either strapped to the legs or under slung shoulder holters ( drauling ) with a twirl or two when putting back in housing .

Now this would encourge a lot of ppl to come back to SWG and a lot of new ppl would join .

All we need now is crafterable cowboy hats and chaps .

YEEEha .


Han solo has holsters so why cant we ?

if they added dual wielding to the game I would hope they would add it to more than just pistoleer (duel wielding rocket launchers might be fun joke). They need to add it to jedi and fencers aswell (maybe more?), since i'm a duel wielding freak I'd make all my characters have duel wield weapons. It would be awesome to use a weapon style that I have always used (when available) and its something I've missed since starting the game.

I realise this is a pistols thread but other profs should have this aswell, although if only pisoleers got it I would make all my chars pistoleers lol.

And there could be many more...think of how you could take the above bonuses and penalties and make a balanced and fair pistoleer ability. Also Im sure there are other bonuses and penalties that could apply post those also if you think of them.




Look at the highlighted text - how can we have both no specials and limited specials at the same time?

And also why is everyone saying the left hand would be the off hand?


I think that if they make duel weilding master pistoleer only that when someone gets master pistoleer they should have the choice of the left or right hand being the main hand - it wouldn't matter but i know people who are sensitive about being left handed

I see alot of points here and some good and some bad.


I think it should be like this:


reduce total speed and acuracy by half.

each weapon fires at its own speed doing its individual dmg(this would get rid of the need for two alike weapons).

either new specials for dual wielding, or only allow specials that give no bonus to accuracy.

some examples of new speicals:

- Dual Double tap

- Dual Multi target

- Dual Point Blank shot


This could also be used to the same effect with 1-h melee and TKA's Vibro-Knucklers, but would require there own specials.

When looking at duel wield - you can not simply give a pistoleer a 2nd weapon and let him do double damage.

On the other hand - give him 2 and totally cut his abilities is also no option.


My favorite would be - to simply make all special/shots area shots when using 2 weapons at the same time, whilegiving a damage/accu/speed penalty.

All pistoleers want a good area shot since multi person pistol shot was buggedfor so long.

And it would perfectly fit into the CU making it a really nice crowd control ability to use sepcials against multiple targets.


I think that would be something all could live with - pistoleers and the other classes at the same time. And of course put the skill into the master box!
