we need come w/the 5 most important & give that to the Dev Team... maybe if we break it downfor them some, we'll at least get a few things done.
1)Speed - We need a LOT more at the master lvl
2)Multi-Target Shot - Needs to work (like FanShot)
3)FanShot - needs to do what it says - hit 1 target multiple times, not hit multiple targets 1 time
4)Disarming Shot2 - I've never-ever seen this disarm or stop an opponent
5)PistolMelee Defense2 - has never worked
I agree with awthtem-xour's top 5 here. I would deffinatly like to see disarming shot do what it says. Pistols have such limited armor piercing that going up against anyone is any kind of decent armor and you are talking about an almost futile effort. Being able to take out a weapon would be a huge boon as right now our special attacks all target random HAM bars. I have seen Swordsmen and Riflemen of the same level as me take out people 10 times as fast because they have a mind attack.
I could go on about the other 5 but I would just be reitterating what has already been stated. The only other caveat that I would like to add to that list, and that is a good pistol. The DX2 is a terrible weapon, the Republic is a decent weapon but the HAM costs are very high. I am still using a Scout Blaster after all this time. It is fast reliable, and low cost. While this is nice and all that, I shouldn't have to rely on a weapon that I supposedly surpassed the skill to use long ago. A weapon fitting to our proffession would be wonderfull.
Oh and one more thing, speaking as a person who works in development. I can understand the frustration of all the people who are attempting to work with this profession. Heck I am too, and am just as frustrated somtimes. However, attacking the DEV's is most deffinatly NOT going to get them to make fixing this class a top priority. In my own dealings, I am going to put people who are much nicer to me to the front of the list and those that are rude, demanding, and nasty to the very bottom of the pile. So please folks, lets try alittle decorum here. The DEV's have a hell of a task out there and more than just our profession to deal with. And I am not talking about cleverly editing your explitives from your posts either. Patience and polite discourse will win us more friends among the DEV crew than assulting them will.

I am going to master pistoleer in the next few days. After reading the forums and experiencing the difficulties, is the profession worth keeping? It has been frustrating that the specials don't work and I do pitiful damage compared to other elite classes.I knowthat everyone is frustrated with the shortfalls, but whystay a pistoleer?

Because grinding up to competency in a different broken profession just isn't all that appealing.
Yes, Pistoleer is inexcusably broken ... no, it's not much different than 90% of the game's professions.
