Thread: Top 5 Pistoleer issues
Let's conform and list out individual top 5 issues of the pistoleer profession. Number them, and keep them fairly short if possible. We'll compile this and ammend the current list and re-submit.
Thanks and good hunting ![]()
5. Holsters (not overly important but would definitly be nice)
4. We should get all pistol certifications. We are the masters of pistols after all
3. Fix some of our abilitys. From what I understand disarm shot is worthless
2. Duel wielding.
1. Duel wielding. (I think this deserves twice the attention and I could only think of 4 things.)
Let us get all pistols (bought 2 I could not use, Scatter and Launcher). A pistoleer should be able to use all pistols, even the launcher pistol gives pistol exp when used. At least change the names of the other guns we can't use.
Fix dodge (don't think it does anything)
Fix resistance in grips and stance line (don't think they work either)
Add cowboy hats (with antenna holes) ![]()
1. Fix the specials that don't work correctly or at all. For all the xp it takes to advance in this profession or any profession, the specials could at least work and be worth the time and effort put into attaining them.
2. Fix defensive bonuses to actually do something. Not just for us but across the board. I play about 3-4 hours a night during the week and with all that combat, I might get 2 or 3 "dodge" or "evade" messages. That's a LOT of shots being fired and to be a pistoleer or other elite combat professional, we should be able to dodge/evade/etc. a bit more.
3. Let us have certs for all pistols in game. As mentioned before, we are specialists in pistols and should be able to use them. I do understand why BH would be allowed tho but we should as well.
4. Holsters would be nice.
1) The only issue that I'm really concerned with is that BH's encroach on this profession too much. They have more speed, better accuracy, better specials, and pistol certs we lack. Why did they take a simple task like shooting a pistol and split it into 2 totally sepate skill trees? And then they went and made the one that is named Pistoleer worse at using a pistol. Until we hear from the devs on why they think BH's should have such high pistol bonuses and specials this remains my number 1 issue.
But I'll reiterate a few of the other favorites just to help build up a list...
2) Give Pistol Melee Defense 2 a knockdown component, it seems worthless without one.
3) Fix Disarm Shot 1 to do something unique or useful. Or get rid of it.
4) Dodge seems to have no effect.
So far my biggest problem is with the Bounty Hunters of course. A pistoleer should be certified on any pistol you can come up with.
Gawau Kanati
Dodge does work, watch your combat window and look at how often the enemy misses when you get a high dodge modifier.
5. Duel Wielding would be very cool.
4. Melee 2 does need a knockdown.
3. Fix the broken specials.
2. More Pistol variations! None of what we have is very exciting.
1. We need weapon certs at a higher levels, our best two pistols (Scout and FWG) are available to very low level players. Our highest level pistol is available at Pistol specialist, still a low level. BH's get certs for nice guns when they move up their trees, we should as well. No new weapons after Pistol Specialist is very frustrating. We should have at least one at each master level on the tree as well as one or two more at Master Pistoleer.
Rampage Savage - Master Gunfighter
5. Dual wield
4. Fix broken specials
3. Fix defense/dodge issues
2. Certification for ALL pistol types ( we are called pistoleers after all)
1. New pistols
<sounding like broken record>
1. Fix the specials.
2. Make pistoleers better pistol users than Bounty Hunters.
3. Isn't there a pistol that bounty hunters can get that pistoleers can't? Why can't we get a cert for that?
4. Dual Wield pistols!
5. Aside from maybe three or four specials, not much in the Pistoleer chart looks like it is really worth spending the time to get. Something needs to be added, I'm quickly finding out I have a boring profession.
The number one item should be
Make pistoleers better pistol users then anyone else!
Here is some information to support the fact that we are not.
Master Bounty hunter: 120 acc 80 sp. For carb pistol.
Master Pistoleer with master marksman: 105 acc 79 sp.
Master Pistoleer without master marksman: 95 acc 74 sp.
Highest Pistoleer stats you can get with you skill points:
Take the 4 marksman boxes in pistoleer and the 4 in specials, take the four boxes in bounty hunter either carbine or pistol.
145 acc
104 sp.
Now what you lose for not being master in each of these?
10 points of accuracy and 5 points of speed.
Skill points to be a Master pistoleer: 92
Experiance points to be a Master pistoleer: 4571620 all pistol or combat xp.
Skill points to be a Master Bounty hunter: 217 77 point for master scout
Experiance points to be Master Bounty hunter: 4108410 (129620 of it scouting xp)
Going the hybrid non master route:
Skill points: 208 77 point master scout
Experiance points: 3703790
So being a master pistoleer get me what? Dodge I can't count on. Less accuracy less speed more time killing mobs with my pistol. Less pistols avaliable to me. Oh I know I can where the title gunslinger or something right?
Our best styles are in one or two lines the rest seems like filler.
We should be feared in any close ranged combat. The above shows that we will be dead not feared at any ranged combat.
Some look at skill points as being the balance but there are two xp and skill points. We pay 463210 over all skill points and 592830 more actually pistol and combat xp to be what the third rate pistol using class. Some might say that we don't pay as many skill points to be a master pistoleer. That part is true. But 77 points of the BH profession is scouting. Scouting is not combat. How does setting up a tent make you a better shot or faster then me? So the diffrence is 48 points for the master but for the hybrid is is only 39. As a bounty hunter you also get missons that are not accessable to any other class. I think that is your payment for your 48 skill points.
Ok sorry to rant. But this kinda pissed me off when I did the math. Incase you couldn't tell.![]()
Btw just for refrence the Carbineer is in the same boat. So if you want to add weight to this argument get them to throw in.
1) Fix our special shots so that they work correctly
2) More guns it is sad that we only get one new gun and that is at Novice Pistoleer at least give another at Master Pistoleer
3) Fix Dodge and defense vs stun etc cause it isn't working right
4) Dual Wielding
5) Holsters
i know im nitpicking but its DUAL not DUEL
"I know I'm nitpicking but it's DUAL, not DUEL." --Now that's nitpicking! ![]()
5. Holsters...sounds fun.
4. Dual wielding...dual holsters.
3. Fixing the Specials.
2. More Certifications.
1. COOL PISTOL TWIRLING ANIMATIONS!!!!!
