According to the devs...

If a pistol has ar1 or armor peircing of light and you shoot something that has no armor then you get a damage bonus.

Well it doesnt work with Dx2's... I have one (had one...guess what it poofed) and shot everything I could find, no damage bonus...

The armor tables for weapons are still broke, so none of the armor pierceing weapons are working properly.(ie dx2's, laser rifles/carbines etc etc)

Actually the DX2 does do bonus damage agianst 1 mob: a vynock (the ones on Talus). This mob is one of the ones that when you examine it, it has no resists at all. Against a vynock I do 1.25 times damage. But I agree that it doesn't do bonus damage against any othe AR0 mob.

I have bugged this, and I urge everyone else to do it also.

Yes it does give a bonus, it does not show up in your combat window, but if you shoot at an AR0 mob the numbers that show up above it are 25% higher then the damage numbers in your combat window.

Uhhhhh, don't you think I would have tried it before I said that? EVERY AR0 mob I have shot at with it I get a higher number above the creature then in the combat window. This is true of mobs on Tat, Naboo, Dath. I have not been on talus.

SmugglerFlux - Since items are database entries in this game, each one with its own serial number (why are these still shown now that we're in release?), it might be possible for your specific DX2 pistol to be bugged, or more likely, for all pistols made over some time span in the past to have been bugged.

The one thing that bugs me about the DX2 is that the range penalties are killer. There's no discernable reason that a pistol should only be really accurate at 0 range. Give us at least 16m.

No. Try it. That is precisely how I test it and no bonus shows up in the numbers above the mob. Perhaps on some it works but on these it does not:

viscious huf dun

huf dun bull

stunted huf dun

tortur

greater sludge panther

mottled wrix

meager tortur

The only AR0 mob thatI got a chance to test my DX2 on that it did work on was a vynock.

From what I've noticed it will do equal damage to AR1 and AR0 mobs (according to both the numbers in my combat spam box and the numbers above the creature's head).

/shrug, I don't care all that much about that. It's still the most useful pistol in my arsenal by a long shot.

Ok, after Rhyllis posted that his DX2 did increased dmg to mobs on Naboo, I went and testedmine on a few. Here are my latest results:

AP1 vs AR0 didnormal dmg (no bonus) - Failure

Talus

  • Viscious Huf Dun

  • Huf Dun Bull

  • Stunted Huf Dun

  • Tortur

  • Greater Sludge Panther

  • Mottled Wrix

  • Meager Tortur

Naboo

  • Spineflap Soldier

  • Ikopi

  • Male Plains Tuskcat

  • Female Plains Tukscat

  • Nuna

  • Dappled Gualama

  • Bachelor Gualama

  • Gualama

Endor

  • Lice Ridden Remmer Queen

  • Rotten Gut Remmer King

AP1 vs no stat mobs* did normal damage (no bonus) - Failure

Naboo

  • large chuba

  • massive gnort

AP1 vs no stat mobs* did 25% more dmg - Success

Talus

  • vynock

Naboo

  • diseased nuna

  • flesh eating chuba

  • fanned rawl

  • chuba

  • capper spineflap

  • gnort

  • nightspider

  • narglatch cub

  • dwarf nuna

* - No stat mobs are those that when examined show no resists and no armor rating. Typically very low level mobs are like this.

So for my DX2 on Corbantis, it rarely adds bonus damage. The ONLY times it adds bonus damage are to no stat mobs that are typically CR 15 or less.

And again, the AP is taken into account against AR1 or higher mobs. It only seems bugged against AR 0 mobs.

Could someone please shoot one of the RED mobs listed above and confirm whether the number over the creature's head is the same as the number in the combat window or is 1.25 timeshigher? Don't shoot the green mobs, they are working as intended. I'd like to get a 2nd opinion on some of these mobs so I can nail down whether it is the specific gun, the server, the mob, or what...

I'm a carbineer and the same thing is happening with the DXR6. AR0 vs. unarmored mobs, AR1 vs. light armored mobs. Other weapons are working properly, i.e. laser carbine is AR2 and gives proper bonuses, EE3 is AR0 and suffers vs. armored targets.

Something about the DXR6 and DX2 is messed up. The DXR6 is still the best carbine in my inventory, but I wouldn't mind doing 25% more damage.
