Thread: Tips for fighting with Pistoleer specials in PVP

I recently attained the rank of Master Pistoleer this weekend on Sunday.

This morning I was in a small PVP battle in my PA's city and I was fully buffed (health, action and mind - Brandy/Canapes/Spice/TKA Mediated II mind) and was taken down in TWO HITS from a Master Rifleman from afar. Even with good sliced Composite Armor I was down fast.

So my question is this. My final template will be Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer/Master TKA (working on TKA atm).

Until then, what can I take use of or what tips can people give me for PVP so I don't go down as easily? What combat specials should I use, what pistol and what kinda stats do I need on the pistols (pre-slice, as I can slice awesome slices after)?

I'm a Human Male, so if I need to change up my HAM a little bit, please let me know that as well. What exact numbers the HAM should be set to that is.

Thanks to all and I hope my fellow Pistoleers can help a bit.

(of course, these tips might all change in Publish 8 when they do the HAM changes)

What it sounds like is a master riflemen popping you with a couple master headshots using a most likely krayt jawa rifle. I dont know the status of quality of the armor on your server but you can find 36% stun layered composite on corbantis while retaining 61-65 percent resists in all other areas pre slice. The ham is really high but still manageble while buffed and on brandy.

For fighting with pistoleer i recommend finding a decent crafted genosian stun pistol, on corbantis again, theyll run you anywhere from 650k-1mil for a 1xx-23x 2.4 speed one. This will let you level the playing field against armored opponents who do not have stun armor. If you have last ditch spam that like a monkey on steroids or if you dont, its little brother stopping shot. Always remeber to shopot panic shot/low blow first for that lucky kd.

I'm not sure if you do this already, but NEVER stop running if you're shooting pistols.

By running, you decrease the enemy's accuracy in a big way (though Riflemen have way over the top speed and accuracy at the moment), and you as a Pistoleer have Accuracy While Moving that's pretty good.

There are other tips, but the run and gun is the best of the lot.

Runners up:

  1. Stun-layered helmet (40% is nifty)

  2. Synthsteak - it shaves off 25-40% of the damage on the next 20-35 attacks

  3. Air Cake - +20 Air Cake and Master Pistoleer equal thepost-hardcap Dodge max of 125

That combined with what you just mentioned is about all you can do. If that fails, just join the legions of people who state the obvious - that the speed equation is biased towards Riflemen, that Riflemen are relatively overpowered, etc.

kite kite kite

never stop moving

I've found that fan shot is better than stopping shot, it shoots much faster and has very respectable damage..

I would ideally wait till you get the smuggler specials, then low blow and last ditch are your friends (i would say panic shot but the devs have done a wonderful job of **edit**ing that up).

actually fanshot has better dps then last ditch, unless u have a gun with less then 1.4 speed.

http://killyourpc.org/swg/swg_dps.phpuse this calculator if u want to find out wich special or gun that gives u the best dps.

i agree with the run and gun tactic but the biggest tip i can give u is NEVER SPAM!!!!!!!!! people think spamming is for the better but it is for the worst. Just think if u are a pistoleer and you spam last ditch or stopping shot over and over agian it would decrease your action very fast and since your fighting something that is shooting or knockin you around , just think how fast you would go down. I have tested this method and have only lost 1 duel out of 6 in the pst few days.

thats what HAM reduced weapons are for.

and when buffed i think i can afford the 1 action point per second i loose while doing specials.

ya when ur buffed of course u can afford to spam stuff but when ur njot buffed its not worth it. a couple of nights ago i fought a rifleman and won my tactic was simple run and gun for a little bit, then do a couple stopping shots then really just sit back and think instead of spamming like crazy. i know many prob wouldnt agree with my method but that is what works for me, i suggest all u pistoleers try this method to see if it works for u

Well Master Rifleman hitting you in the head is always going to be painful. But you need an advanced composite armor helmet, with a stun layer. Its all about head armor, even if thats the only peace of armor you wear, and for that helmet it NEEDS stun resist. And as you did buff up that mind.
