I have plenty of Pistol XP. Is it worth a slot in my toolbar and the 2 Skill Points?

Thought you said you were going to quit after the news about eyeshot?

since you're a BH, there's a good chance that you can spam stopping shot every second, is that the case?
If so, i'd avoid it seince, fanshots only other bonus is its somewhat lower ham cost. For NORMAL pistol wielders, the extra speed makes it very useful.

To jakara no, I'm not quitting, just changing professions. I don't use eyeshot spam. It's a weak tactic. My normal attack in PVP or PVE is like this:
Torso Shot/Stopping Shot/Double Tap.

I wouldnt try it. The reason the hams are so low is because of the pistols they use. The scat has notoriously high hams, as it should being so powerful. Its also in my opinion designed to wear us out faster than pistoleers to keep us from killing lots of people. Instead we get worn out on one. Anyways back to the topic. In pvp pool specific attacks are better, being a bounty hunter you should be using eye shot. When you hunt you should find things that are easy but have good xp and just autoattack. No reason to waste all your ham on one hard critter when you could just autoattack and kite ferals for hours.

w00t, I just got fanshot yesterday. What is the best way to use it, I don't want to start playing and find out that I don't know how to use it. Give me the pro's and cons please, Thanks.

To use it to greatest effect work out how to position yourself to hit as many targets as possible. It has a cone of fire that goes out in front of you and you can hit anything within that cone.
So you end up running around a fair bit trying to position enemies inside the cone...
Doesn't work too well on melee Mobs as they seem to take up position at angles to each other right next to you, but for Mobs with ranged attacks that stand still you can run around, line em up and fan them all to death.
It's a bit bugged in that it sometimes won't hit targets that are slightly higher/lower that the target you are shooting, like in a ditch or something.

Just a bit of caution, be carefull of whats behind the mob you are shooting. I was on Dantooine , using fanshot to kill savage quenkers , and I accidentally hit a few natives who had just spawned at about max range . It wasn't pretty.

Line them up if possible.
ie if you have a mob that is using nothing but range on you like them all up as in as straight as a line as possible. You will see your damage screen go flying bye if you get it right. It doesn't take much forsite to do and soon it will be instinctive to do it.
As they said before .....be wary of what is behind it. I have personally gotten into allot of trouble using fanshot without paying attention to what I am shooting at.

Go to the Warren on Dantooine, mobs in there are always standing around in groups. And becuase it is an old dungeon I hardly ever see anybody in there.

Thanks you both ... anyone else have tips?
Yeah, don't use it in the Genosian Caves. :shakes his head: I wish I had taken a pic of the herd of Crazed Genosian's flowing out of the cave after me. :chuckles: I did live through, the group that was going to enter the cave after me, well, I don't they knew what hit them. :shivers: Ugly ugly site.
