Thread: I give up! This profession is a freaking joke

lol , this is so wierd . your entire post applies to me as well . i too remastered pistoleer after i unlocked my slot and i have also decided to pursue some other profession until we get fixed.

p.s. the two things i enjoy doing in the game are pvp and hunting high level mobs and since pistoleer is lame in both those things i have ended up spending more time levelling the jedi . yaay one plus point about pistoleer

I just disagree, I won't bothered posting my opinions, reasons or cures for some of the broken specials in the profession since your post did nothing constructive.

Totally right.
I swore I was a pistoleer for life, but it turned into a joke so I dropped it about a month or so ago.
Im havin alot more fun doing some of the melee professions.

Couple Master Pistoleer with Expert Bounty Hunter and get yourself a decent geo blaster and you'll be able to waste Riflemens.

I think what you meant to say was, "Take bounty hunter, and enough haste from Pistoleer to get 100 speed."

I think you guys go overboard with this Pistoleers suck thing I mean yeah we're gimped but not THAT much, now im a MGunfighter I also have Expert BH and I reletively kick ass, FanShot ownz and so does Stopping Shot once you cap out speed I can solo Bull Rancors easy with it, so we do have our strong points as well, and once they fix the specials (Even though their useful now) we'll be one of the best profs I think...and also the badest looking! With duel weild and holsters! heh heh

I like Pistoleers just fine. I was just correcting that above statement. Pistoleers get 74 pistol speed. A bounty hunter gets 75, and even a PIKEMAN gets 75 polearm speed. Just seems screwy to me.

Just yesterday I took part in an attempt atlarge-scale PvP, we tried to assault a Rebel faction base.
During the whole 5 minutes of the fight, I managed to land 1 Low Blow (the KD did actually stick), 1 Last Ditch and 2 Fanshots with my modified Republic Blaster (Sonic Blaster was near useless due to 48m max range) until I got hit with an insta-gib AE mind poison followed by a Sniper Shot.
The only part of PvP in which Pistoleers actually shine is the unbuffed, unarmored, close quarters small groups PvP. Once the enemy brings buffs, decent armor and one of the fotm templates we're doomed.

exactly, pistoleer alone isn't good
and accuracy from bh. that helps too

heh, i havent been playin long enough to be able to know what pistoleer was like, so im just tryin it now for the hell of it, anyone know whats better? pistoleer carbineer or rifleman?

Rifleman rules every profession out there.
Pistoleer was the king back when you could spam disarm2 all day and they couldn't get up.
Now that everyone has 80% composite, 2500 ham, you can't kill anyone that's buffed and armored as a Pistoleer unless you're a expert BH spamming eyeshot with a 2 million dollar Geo pistol.
