Thread: Multi-Target Pistol Shot (sort of) works

Though it seems to be buggy in the same way as other AOE effects like Fan Shot, Multi-Target Pistol Shot actually does work. It seems to attack everything within a certain radius of you, even if it's behind you. While this can be handy for taking out lairs (by just targeting the lair, you hit all the creatures protecting it and surrounding it) the buggy AOE thing (it doesn't ALWAYS attack everything in the area of effect, especially not on the first attack) and the higher delay mod make it pretty much inferior to Fan Shot. Plus it seems to be much easier and faster to just Healthshot2 each individual enemy to death.


Basically it's a spherical attack as opposed to Fan Shot's cone attack.


Things that would improve this:


1) Make it more damaging. Since it doesn't work from as far away, and is only really useful when you are surrounded, it's got to hit harder.


2) Give it a special effect. Not sure what. I guess Stun makes the most sense and would do the most good. It wouldn't quite overlap Last Ditch or Wild Shot 2 (from carbineer) since it has the unusual area of effect. Plus it would be great to stun every enemy near you when things are getting rough.


It is a really cool idea, sort of an extended range spin attack a la Brawler specialists, which is sort of what we are in the world of ranged combat, closest to brawlers. But it does need more punch (and not to be buggy).

AOE sphere is what i've concluded from a lot of people's opinions (don't have it personally).

yeah i like it for it's originality (at least original for a ranged weapon). it just is pretty useless because of it's flaws.

Since when is fan shot broke? Man that is all I use on mobs, does the job well might I add. The only beef I have would be it hits your enemy and things beyond. LOL All well, it does get the job done.

Ok not in game now but just wondering from those of you that know. According to description, shouldnt muti-target do what fan shot does now and fan shot supposed to be like fencers scatter hit where it hitss all 3 HAMs?


I only had pistoleer 0-0-4-4 at one time and dropped it so I dont know so dont flame me, Im just asking because maybe if they made one do the mutli ham pool attack it would be better than both hitting multiple enemies but I do think from what Ive seen master pistoleers do that multitarget is horribly broken/useless compared to fanshot and that while pistoleers ar supposed to be the fastest ranged class to account for the low damage, low AP weapons, by master of other professions, pistoleer isnt that much faster to make the DPS they should.


Again, just asking to get an understanding of the profession as I am about to go come back and master this time. No need to flame, Im learning.

You might be thinking of Double Tap. Which can hit multiple HAMs, if you are not then we already have one its called Double Tap. For all intents and purposes it is not that great, because we hit for less and it is a rather slow attack

Well that stinks. I know fencer scatter hit is awesome as its damage modifier is lower than 1 hand hit 3 it hits every pool and seems to find the weakness in armor every time so its better than body hit. Pistoleers really do need some love, but none the less, Im gonna still go for it as I cant supprt the HAM costs to the mind of rifleman or carbineer as a twilek.


Maybe dual weapon wield wil help pistoleer quite a bit in stead of being just flashy show.

I didn't know double-tap did that. Being able to hit the unarmored spots seems useful. It would be really cool if we had a series of abilities that could target specific body parts (head, left shoulder, right forearm, feet, etc) to target the weaknesses in armor. that'd take a lot of space on the toolbar though.


The cone and sphere complement each other well, since the sphere allows a Pistoleer to get into the thick of things, be surrounded, and still combat everyone. It just needs to not be broken.

Scatter shot does not hit the unarmored spot all the time, it sometimes finds it (more than other attacks, but is unpredictable). As for the multitarget shot, I am not sure it isbroken. I am assumingit has a specific range just like every other circular attack. If the target is not in the range it is not hit (perhaps the range should be increased, not sure what the current range is). As a master fencer/pistoleer I have seen this many times (with the spin attack or multitarget shot missing).


The problem with pistoleer isn't that we have buggy/broken specials (they all work), it is the usefulness of our specials. Many just are not worth using (disarm shot2 is probably my least favorite special).

I think the name fanshot refers to how it hits multiple targets within a "fan" (small arc), wheras multi-target pistol shot seems to not really care where the bad guys are, so long as they're within range. As stated earlier, I think double-tap is supposed to be the one that hits multiple HAM's, but in my experience I think it's bugged, it only seemed to hit one HAM for me.

Well yes if you actually read the descriptions, fan shot says "hits A target multiple times". If you read Multi targe pistol shot, it reads something like "hits multiple targets in an area at once". So yes by the descriptions, multi target pistol shot should do what fanshot actually does now. Not sure what the hell they had wanted fanshot to be, but having it hit all HAM pools with SAME amount of damage would be nice.


Someone mentioned double tap hitting multiple hams. Just so it's clear, doubletap, stopping shot, and fanshot hit multiple pools. I think they hit more then once per hit, but it might be that they hit one single one, but it random which one they hit each hit. But I like that fan shot hits all three, or even two for the SAME amount of damage.


What if fan shot was like the "2 to the chest one to head" thing. If you are not sure what that is ask any gangster or cop. Basically someone shooting a pistol for maximam stopping/killing power, shoots off two rounds to center of mass, or chest, then follows up with one quick one to the head.


so 2/3 damage to the health pool, and 1/3 to the mind pool, could be what fanshot does.

bounty hunters have a move like this in their master box. they hate it, say its worthless.
