Thread: Any way to up Damage vs Jedi?

I have good pistols. As good as any in this forum. I am currently mostly using a Featherweight Kinetic gun.


I hunt Jedi almost exclusively. Ill take a brake occasionaly after a few continous losses and hunt NPC Bosses.


I have tried multiple combinations and I still regularly hit Jedi for 115....51.... sometimes a few hits in there for 400 but very very few.


I use Advanced Crit, Advanced Quick and Torso shot a lot. Ive found the MBH and Pistoleer debuffs are not that great vs Jedi and mostly good for groups. Even then it ups the damage only 50 points or so with all debuffs on the target.


I can barely scratch them with there DOT heal on and MDef and enchancer buffs.


Is there any way for a Pistoleer to pierce that Jedi full temp skin?


I can stay alive for a long long time vs nearly any Jedi except a few with the really uber 120 Krayt Pearl sabers. I can just never seem to get into them enough to even make them sweat.


Some Jedi who are not MDef I can manage to wear down their Force after a bit but I am still barely making them heal.


I know they are suppose to be very strong but for me at least it seems every Jedi is good PvPer or the Balance is shifted way to far in their court vs pistols.


I do win on occasion when I catch them off gaurd or low on force but that is rare.


I have probably fought 50 or so jedi in the last 2 weeks with mostly a draw or me dieing after a KD were lag stuck me down to long.


I also have tried the 200 accuracy drink but it seems to only improve damage by 30-50...


Im looking for some help to get my DPS vs Jedi up. I ve tried PuPs of all sorts etc..


some of the damage on my guns Ive tried are damaged caped speed capped SAC capped. Ive tried it all.


I hit like a girl.. heh


I am moving to CMX4XX as we speak to try and boost it a bit. Any other ideas? Id like to defeat Jedi who are no good PvPers. As it is now I cant seem to beat many of them at all. At least not the Full temp ones.


Or is it a futile effort to even try?

You have5 Options:


a) Become a Jedi/MBH


b) Jump off a cliff


c) Jump off a plane (No parachute included)


d) Jump off the Empire state


d) Get 8k Energy armor, Slice it with 75% Armor Break Resist, Get the Best Breath of Heaven+Vegerspine+Booster Blue+Synth steak(Optional). Have a Doctor Follow you to your Target and Before you get 500m Tell him to Buff you up to your teeth. You already got your weapons so thats all you need to become a Jedi hunter. If you dont have the moeny to do Either Ide suggest you take Options B-D.

You put Damage + Jedi in the same sentence?


Use kinetic weapons. That's 'bout it.

Yes I am not crying here. If this is the way it is supposed to be then I can live with that. I was just looking for some advice but I think I have all the bases covered and will just have to stop wasting time VS defenders for sure. I waste his and my time. I have the food and the Armor set up needed. As I said I do not have a problem defending vs Jedi but I do not seem to have the ability to Defend and do damage to some of the Full temps out there.



I guess I can just not coninue fighting a MDef/MLS Jedi once I see the buffs pop up or switch to Rifles which I do not really want to do. I think the problem with Pistols is that Rifles and other Ranged weapons fire to fast. Pistol advantage should be speed? but since we have lag and timers on specialstheweapon speeddoes not help to increase damage up to the level of Rifles.


I see a Rifle hitting for 1200 in 2 seconds and a Pistol firing twice for 600 in those same two seconds but it doesnt work out that way in combat in game with lag and specials timers.


I suppose they could fix it (if it needs fixed) by increaseing the rate of fire/decreasingSAC for specials with pistols.


Let me know if you have anypistol type strats that could help me out.

you have 2 possiblities to up your damage:


increase your accuracy (food)


lower his defense (warning shot and dizzy work best)



I alwats try to keep warning, dizzy, blind and intimidate on the jedi

ok im gonna throw in a little theory here.. i know its not possible, but just so you get the principal of it:


you need to get your accuracy 750 higher than your targets defence [this is the impossible part with the lvl of jedi defence]

when your acc. gets 750 higher than your targets defence, you will hit for your weapons max damage with EVERY hit [not counting damage special multiplier]


i know it sounds impossible, and it most likely is, but higher acc. is the best way to get more damage

yup. that's clearly documanted:

but I don't agree acc is the best way, with only TWO shots I can lower a jedi's defense by 160, to up you accuracy that much you would have to take deuterium pyro, and at +160 it still only lasts about 1 minute

Dolike your own corr. and go MCM CMs debuffs compliments any proffesion.. and with pistoleers state effects, CM would be brutal..

I do not think warning shot is worth the time it takes to fire it in a 1v1. Warning shot is good for groups but does not last long enough on target to warrent the time it took to shoot the shot in the first place. Instead you would be better off shootin an advanced crit or torso shot and you would end up with higher DPS in the time it took to shoot warning shot vs the damage gained.


I changed my CM from 4xxx to 13xx so far and well Ill say I have had great results but im learning to deal with a lil less healing ability. No real test vs a MDef yet but its paid of in the sum off nearly a mil in bounties just today vs lower Jedi and those withou MDEF. I may try CM x4xx but so far all the X3XX line sticks well enough and boost the DPS nicely. I bet Rifles and CM X4XX do really well as well.


MP MBH CM 13xx today who knows about tommarow. For those who dont know the CM dots X3XX are ticking around 400 damage every?? seconds and it lasts awhile so it is a nice way to get them healing themselves with force. All the while your small pistol shots plus the dots are slowly eating them up.

ok.... first off... your dot's are not ticking for 400 alone... but combined they will tick for between 400-700 thats 200-350 depending on if your using enhancers and how good a stick it is....


also, warning shot is pretty much pointless.... but intimidate is a must... as well as i am curious why you went dot's instead of debuffs... i would think thyroid and paralyze would be much more usefull to you

There's a Necrosis drop of a pistol called the Deathrain, Badger's playing around with a few, which has a very high min damage for a pistol. The SAC sucks, but it might be worth looking into. With a damage slice and a damage pup...


Also, even when your FWG5 has hit the damage slice cap for max damage (935 IIRC?), a damage slice will still raise the min damage, and thus still has the potential of improving your damage output. Might be worth considering.

I will help you out. Your first problem is pistols. A very good FWG 5 will get you 350-900 damage. The only thing that matters in PvP is min damage. Against a MDEF or anyone with just a little Defense the best you can hope to do in PvP with lvl 80 v lvl 80 is your min damage*1.3. You will only be able to do 30% damage over your min. I hope that you are now seeing the problem with pistols.


If you get yourself the 8% sliced proton carb your min damage is almost 500 +90 for cold damage. Taking into effect the damage reduction for PvP here is how the two guns stack up.


FWG5 - 350*0.7 = 245 Now add in about 30% more damage for all of your accuracy.

245*1.3=318.5.

Last point Critical Shot is a 1.9 damage modifer.

318.5*1.9=605.15. with the 50% reduction for force armor you can only do 302 per shot.


Proton Carb

Min Damage 495*0.7=346.5 (+90 cold). adding the 30% extra damage = 450.45 (+90cold)

With Critical shot. 450.45*1.9= 856 +90 cold = 946 with 50% damage reduction 472 worst case.


I usually do about 1018 per shot against a MDEF before armor or 509 after armor.
