Im on the brink of giving up pistoleer, and taking up a unbroken proffesion! Is there any hope for pistoleers

I have had good luck with pistoleer. . .I know some of our specials are technically broken but I use what i have and make it work

Same here. I went from something similar to the triple threat to "pure" pistol template and I love it. Pistols definitely have a certain something going for them. If you don't enjoy it, then definitely switch to something you can have fun with.

What are good pistol moves? Ive heard fan shot is good and pistol whip, but is stopping shot good, and i mainly do PvE

I have to ask those that say they are doing well and having fun. Because I bet I know that answer. Do you have any pistol professions besides pistoleer? Because if you do, I bet it's those parts of pistoleer that are working for you. Pistols itself in this game is fun, but the Pistoleer profession BY ITSELF is not any good really. To much not working, to underpowered compared other stand alone elite combat professions.

He's right. The only specials I really use are from Smuggler and BH. The Pistoleer specials sound cool...but they just don't work...

I agree with Squidwalker. I was master pistoleer for around 2 months, and was having little fun. I then decided to pick up the pistols line of BH, and it suddenly became much more enjoyable.

I was a pistoleer/Doc and now pistoleer/CM (poor, poor, CM the nerf hurtst so bad). . .
Combined with Doc, winning 1vs1 was a 50/50 game. If foe was TKM the only thing I could do was kite and hope to stay out of range of his attacks. Group PvP? All you can do is fan shot into the crowd...there is no way a pistoleer can "own" a crowd but you can add to the damage.

its one year after release and they didnt fix the specials. u see any chances that they will do now?

Pistoleer, sadly enuogh, is my profession to back up my Bounty Pistols... seriously, Bounty Hunter pistol tree makes you stronger wtih the pistol than a Master Pistoleer... you miss out on some of the dodge and defense vs statuses.... but at least you have torso and eye shot. (Eye shot isa great PvP skill because it damages the weakest pool).
Of course, now I'm a Master Pistoleer, BH 0042, Novice Commando... so I can deal all types of damage except LS(With my cold rifle being my least skill weapon). Launcher Pistol is by far my favorite right now because it gives me heavy weapon xp to upgade my LLC skills.

As a Master Pistoleer/Master Doc, fanShot and healthShot2 are the only two specials I have found useful for PvE. stopShot works to deal some damage if you get a good one, but healthShot2 works just as good for damage and only targets one pool.
This is how combat usualy goes for me.
If there are alot of mobs and I want to kill just one at a time:
/healthShot2 (until it's dead)
If there are many and I want to kill them all:
/healthShot2
/fanShot (until all are dead)
My main weaponry consists of a modified republic blaster and the acid pistol, both have AP1 which is good.
Other then that I have one of each of the regular pistols a pistoleer can use, no Krayt or special like that.

i was wondering what pistoleer skills are broken besdes pistol melee defence 2 and the 2 diable weapon skills(cant think of the names never use em) everything else seems to work u guys should lok at comando they have nothing and smuggler all they have is slicing really anymore

Only 2 pistol abilities are workin right Fan Shot and Pistol Whip. Check the forum for the broken ones
