I got one from the the emp at his retreat and I am not certified. I was wondering what you need to use it. I hame a novice pistoleer, master marksman ?

If this is the republic blaster, I'm fairly sure you need to be a rebel (possibly overt?). I haven't seen confirmation of this, but it seems any rebel is certified regardless of their profession, and it doesn't show in any of the trees.

Everyone is certified to use the Rep Blaster, whether you have the cert or not. But the only blasters that work are post-patch. All the pre-patch blasters and quest blasters do not work.

well it is post patch aint it since i just got it yesterday of the emp? Any rebs confirm about only rebs can use it or is there any imps out there that use it?

It would be a "quest blaster." The other part of my sentence there.

actually I beleive any drops of Republic Blasters still fall under the old patch rules.. Only Smith made Rep blaster actually work for everyone

I'm Master Pistoleer, Zabrak, Rebel Captain. Completed Rebel, Jaba and Jedi missions
No Cert :/

I know several crafters that have never had more than a few boxes of pistol branch that DO have the cert as well as Imps

I wish the someone *cough*Thunderheart*cough* would give us the lowdown on what the deal is with the cert for it.

if you examine it, it says "naboo security force" or something like that...I have + to them so I can use it, dunno.....not going to go kill them and get - and not be able to use it ...Koonta

I will try to do some missions for them and let ya know. I am on naboo now doing some crap for vader so i got some time

I do not believe that there is any faction specific affiliation requirement to use this weapon. Go find a newly crafted one since the last patch before you change your faction affiliations and see to be certain.
