Thread: Best pistol available?

You forgot Striker (kinetic). Actually, if you havea Republic there's little reason to carry a DL44 or Scout, except for the speed of the scout.
The striker's not kinetic anymore. No ranged profs have kinetic anymore. They all got nerfed to be energy. I still carry one (as well as a DL44 and Scout) because of the cool factor. But for real fighting with energy, it's the Republic all the way.
I read that the DX2's bugged to be very innaccurate. Is this true? I DID notice that when I switched from my main pistol being a DX2 to being a Republic, I hit better.
A tricky question that all depends on what type of pistols you have in your inventory, whether you PVP, PVE, and what you hunt.
I mean I carry about 8 different pup'd pistols, and I use them all for different things. I have a great DoT Republic Blaster but it's HAM costs are a little higher than I like for my specials.
I have super fast FW5's (one with the super-cool scope), but they don't damage as well as my other dmg-sliced FW5.
I use my DX2 for creatures that have no acid protection. I use my Scout for my pistol special because it has ridiculously low HAM costs.
I have a high dmg/speed Tangle pistol for PVP and a Genosian pistol for the same (though it's not as good).
The point is, every pistol is different. You need to examine all of the factors and determine what works best for you.
Personally, if you intend on being a pistoleer, pick up any pistol that looks good to you and hang on to it until you find a better one.

They Fixed the Accuaracy on the DX2. The old ones were horriblea (-) in the Ideal, how could you have a negative accuracy modon your ideal range? That has been fixed though. I almost always use a DX2 now mainly because I have been hunting things with no Acid Resistance. That doesn't mean I don't have the other guns, I usually do carry them.
One other thing, as for the FWG5 try to find a Featherweight one.The bonus to Dodge andwhat ever else it gives you is really nice

Whaaaaat?!!!??!?
Yay! I have a pre-nerf Striker.
I use my Republic most of the time, and have an FWG5 or DX2 as backup. I occasionally use my Striker.
Still have my handy Krayt FWG5 450 damage though I think it may be breaking soon. Got one lower damage krayt new and unsliced to take it's spot. I only use them when the occation calls. I do have a nice Sonic Blaster that is in the 400s and good slice DX2 and Reb. Those are good pistols too. Striker when I need one but Yuk, what crappy idea for the only Kinetic pistol we have. One would think in a Universe whos tech is so much more advanced then Dirty Harry's Earth that we'd have a nice 44 Mag evquiv to use.
I'd love to tell a nightsister "Ah-ah, I know what you're thinking punk. You're thinking did he fire six shots or only five? And to tell you the truth I've forgotten myself in all this excitement. But being this is a .44 Magnum - the most powerful hand gun in the world and will blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question--Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk!"
