I finally decided I am going for the Master Pistoleer, Bounty Hunter Pistols IV, and Dirty Fighting IV as my template...but that doesn't leave room for Novice Medic if I did my numbers right...is Novice Medic needed? A guild friend of mine always told me to keep Novice Medic no matter what, but thats 15 skill points I could use.

So anyways, is Novice Medic a necesity?

could be.. i think its maore important do master pist/ BH 0040 / Smug 0040.. and 12 points for what you want. I hear several diff things.. but nov commando with flame 1.. OR HAY.. why not nov commando and the bottom box to use rocket launchers.. could help in destroyong ATs? And you get the launcher pistol with all the smoke and everything

I find medic to be priceless, almost on par with feign death.

I have Master Pistols , Smuggler 0040 and BH 0020 which speed caps you and also leaves enough points for novice medic plus 1 medic box.I have to say i'm having a blast with this template but i'm not one for using bleeds so Torso shot isn't something i'd use

Do you need medic? No.

I havent had it for about 8 months. If your buffed medic is a moot point, your secondaries easily keep up with any damage your uber armor doesnt block. Unbuffed, you'll get used to using spices to save your bacon or at least give you a chance to get away. I gave up medic when I became a MBH, this was when you had to be Master Scout so SP were tight, then I just got used to it.

Wounds are a hassle but sitting in any med center usually gets those healed fairly quickly, always seems to be novice docs/medics hanging around. Just make sure to /tip 2000 and you'll never have a problem getting healed.

I remember early on I couldnt imagine being without medic, but Ive gone looooong past that now. To me unless your actually going to be a doc/combat medic , medic is an un-necessary use of SP.

Now when the combat revamp hits this may change but for now doc buffs are so uber that your (mine atleast) SP are better spent elsewhere.

Depends on what you are fighting. I find Medic 2-0-0-0 to be invaluable for /firstaid. Those bleeds can be a bee atch.

Ya theres no doubt about that. I'm Smuggler/Pistoleer/TK so I can meditate those away. But really when was the last time PVE where you were buffed and a bleed meant the differance between life and death?

Medic is great, but you can live without it. Like I said I've not had it for long time and havent missed it much...I did at first though. I was very hesitant to give it up, but I decided to try life without it and found that my personal performance hasnt suffered for it, in fact it freed up SP that I could use elsewhere. The single biggest difference is that I can not heal a companion, or pet without petstims.

It also means that I cant stand and fight something while healing myself. I have to decide fairly quickly if a Neutron Pixie will give me enough HAM to keep me alive for the fight or alive for flight. I dont need it often but I can think of 1 time just this last week when I bumbled into a Force Crystal Hunter that hit me for 3/4ths of my Health in one shot. Ate a pixie and ran like hell. It was only later that I noticed that my Ubese jacket was at 0 condition....almost died because of it hehe.

Well I was only master pistoleer, and then ranger, so ummm yes I needed Medic. Comeone, pistoleer? It totally needs medic. I don't care how much armor you got on.

We'll seeing that the reason that I didnt and still dont need medic has nothing to do with being a pistoleer...which I am, Id have to disagree.

Dont get me wrong, medic is great, but its far from necessary.

Especially as any proff with defences like a Master Pistoleer.

The thing that makes it un-necessary is the buffs. Buffed secondaries heal the primaries at such a rate that even if you are damaged through your armor a few seconds of not being hit will heal you. Now if your running around in beat up ubese or composite then ya your probably taking alot of damage.

Prior to taking up TK (did this last week) I was only Master Smuggler and Master Pistoleer, I still had no need for medic. I did have a few cases when I had to eat a Neutron Pixie to aid me. For those that dont know a non-medic template uses food buffs to keep secondaries (some cases primaries) buffed, which adds to your "natural" regeneration.

Now Spices should be used as a one shot 10 minute "stim". Only use it when you really need it, say your getting panicky about dropping health (Neutron Pixie) or mind (Muon Gold). If you cant reasonably be victorious during this spice time then its time to skeedadle.

triple master for months and no medic.

with feign death you dont need medic really most heals can be managed through buffs food and spice usage and when they dont help well FD does.

kinda tricky with pvp but even when i did have novice medic i noticed it really wasnt enough to sustain with low level heals /shrug

when health or action is in danger i pop a pixie and vercupsi (however that is spelled) they usually get me through

I am a master pitoleer , master smuggler medic 2/1/4/0 and i find medic to be very worth it. In a group i can actually contribute something ,keeping others alive.

In all the fights i've been in with only novice medic, its helped to do one thing, prolong my death. And thats with bio clothing. 1) b's, unless made with janta blood are to weak 2) without diagnostics, your heal time kills your attack speed after a heal. Unless you have at least either 0200 medic or 0030 (stim c's) i've found nov medic ( pvp) to be pretty uselss. However, in PvE nov medic has saved my life many times. So if you're hardcore pvp, dont' bother unless you can sacrafice the points elsewhere to boost your medical speed or healing power.

Oh and an idea for those extra points, novice commando. That way you will have EVERY PISTOL and EVERY PISTOL MOVE (except fastblast, and its not that hot anyways)..... just think.... you will be a pistoleer with every type of damage available to you.
