Thread: Advanced Firearm Strike

Being a Pre-CU pistoleer, I never had the basic version of this attack. The description says that the advanced version does more damage. However, firearm strike is not a damaging attack; if I recall correctly I think it does 23 damage with my 935 damage pistol. Clearly, it is one of the many specials that does damage for the sake of having it called an attack so that mezzes are broken and such.

Anyhow, if extra damage is the only improvement that comes with this higher version of the skill, then I feel this attack needs to be examined and given more benifits when compaired to its low level relative.

Is there any benift from having Advanced Firearm Strike other than "improved damage"?

i'd personaly settle for the nasty warmup timer to be removed... cause let's face it... having to stop for a second... then firing off the attack, and waiting a second or two for the warmup timer to go is just a pain... and makes it fail more often then not for me....



but to answer your questions. yes it does more damage, the basic one does about 10, but then again that might just be the level dif

they're both supposed to KD, right? hardly ever works for me, and if I let my target get close enough for me to be able to use it, I'm already doomed.

it is a kd hit....its sucks hardcore ..and it rarely work

Chance to KD doesn't seem to change, its the same crappy KD as PMD1.


For a move with a warmup and a 10m range it should be bloody amazing. Ok, I think I'll add this to our list of issues.

eh, just remove the warmup at the advanced level. advanced meaning I've done this so many times I can do it in my sleep ect.


Pistols don't have much range, becuase of this people should be SCARED to get up close and personal with a pistoleer.

being a pistoleer/bounty hunter I tried this out for about 20 minutes compared to underhand shot for BH, when the CU had first hit. I laughed for a bit and never used Advanced Firearm Strike again.

I love this skill, anduse it all the time.I'm master smuggler/pistoleer, commando 4404, and my template doesn't have room for carbineer or bh. If lowblow ever gets its kd back...I'll be in business, if not...I'll be happy with roots, concussion, and firearm strike.


for those of us without the ranged KD's..it's an awesome skill. For me, it's a kd, damage is meaningless, just like all my other state-specials.For it's effectiveness,it's always worked on whatever I've tried it on (haven't tested on kimo's and krayts..because lets face it, any ranged person who gets within 5m of those needs to rethink their strategies).

I'm on board with Deego. I use it all the time too. Most of the time I'm in a group with a healer since two of my buddies are master doc's. So I don't mind getting close to the target. If I'm in a small group or solo then I use stopping shot. I am aslo master smuggler & pistoleer. The rest of my pts go into medic skills. (So far 4-4-0-0)Although I did think about commando I like my template just fine.

Good to have some positive feedback on it. Personally I find it doesn't have a high enough chance to KD in PvE, but then I am trying it on cl80+ stuff.
