half the speed? How does this work out?
Riflemen get +90 speed, pistoleers get +76 speed. With the speed equation used in-game currently, the closer you get to 100 speed, the more exponential you will approach the 1 second speed cap with any special or any speed gun you choose to use.
With +76 pistol speed and a 2.4 speed pistol, a pistoleer will shoot our slowest special every 2.3 seconds.
With +90 rifle speed and a 6.7 speed rifle, a rifleman can shoot just as fast with his/her slowest special.
These are average gun speeds with the speed mods of a master pistoleer/rifleman. Right off the bat, a weapon that does more damage and has more armor piercing can fire just as fast as we can.... but wait.. it gets worse!
Let's say we give each of these guys a +6 pistol/rifle speed attachment.
With +82 pistol speed and a 2.4 speed pistol, a pistoleer will shoot our slowest special at 1.7 seconds.
With +96 rifle speed and a 6.7 speed rifle, a rifleman can shoot their slowest special every second. As a matter of fact... this rifleman could pick up a rifle that is rated at 12.4 speed and fire any special they want just as fast as our pistoleer. Also, with a 6.7 speed rifle (which isa damn slow rifle)
When our profession takes an equal gain in speed through an attachment and all it means is that we can fire a 2.4 speed pistol just as fast as a rifleman with a 12.4 speed rifle.... that's pitiful.
If pistoleers had a comparable 12.4 speed pistol, we'd fire our slowest special every 8.9 seconds.... that is a factor of 5.2 faster that they are than us.
And my last comparison of the day here... A rifleman would have to buy only +6 in speed tapes to speedcap at any special... a pistoleer would have to buy +14. That is 2.3 times the speed tapes. Have fun shopping.
