Medium AP on a Pistol?? I like this class too, but that seems a little too much. Besides, there are so many different damage type pistols I've never found an opponent, PvP or PvE, that I couldn't find a weakness against.

Just look at rifleman, they got a large variety of damage types and AP and still keep getting new weapons with almost every patch. Why not some love for pistoleer?

Every profession has its useless weapons, but Riflemen have had far too many for quite a while. The rifle community is pleased with the addition of the new Acid rifle and I think the opposite will be true for the 'Berserker rifle' (possibly energy dmg....again).

The key to new weapons being added is not to make them more and more powerful, but to make each one unique. For example, wouldn't it be nice to have a pistol with decent damage, but with super-low HAM costs? HAM may not be as big of an issue with you as with other combat professions, but I hope you get the idea.

As for AP, Pistoleers should have AP0-AP1 weapons, Carbineers with AP0-AP2, and Riflemen with AP0-AP3. I believe this only makes sense and that as you get into professions with more access to higher AP, higher weapons speed is needed. (I'm all for higher delay on rifles)

Don't forget too: Even with new weapons being added now, the 'combat revamp' could change them just the same as it could any of the older weapons...goodness, I hate having to say 'just wait for the revamp', but at this point, it seems to be the only option :/

Since its a Colt, it should have Med. AP, high damage, and a 30m range. Makes sense no?

Pistoleers have the LOWEST dps out there, but should have the damage types and common, usable weapons. If this was given medium armor it would make them viable in PvP, but carbines and rifles are still heavier hitting(T21 is heavy 200-300 area, the laser carbine is medium 50-200 area) so if this gun was 50-125 ap medium would fit in line with the rest of the DPS.

Xaver, I admit the object of giving new weapons should not be to make them more powerful everytime. The object should always be to give the profession another option in fighting. Lets look at the stats as we see from the first screen:


Range: sucks


Damage - on par with Republic


Damage Type - Energy (makes no sense with Republic already damage)


Speed - slow as hell (as if we werent slow enough, now we can definetly be the worse profession in the game using this gun)


AP - 0 (keep in mind we have an Energy gun with ap1 already why have 0)



What can I possibly do with this gun except stay in Coronet spaming "Hey look at my Gun, I'm so cool". The thing that makes me the most upset is they are waisting there time thinking up crap like this and not even LOOKING at our specials for 2-3 more months. That is why I'm disappointed, it seems they think throwing us a bone with no meat will be satisfying.

How many people do you know who shoot a hand gun that can crack an engine block? I don't know any and I hang with gun people. I know some people who own a DE .50AE, but they never shoot the darned thing.

BTW a Colt .45 doesn't have the stopping power to kill an engine.

I could name several pistols that could punch through an engine block, many of which are illegal to own.

This goes with what I was saying. I'll admit not knowing toooo much about pistols, but if speed is an issue for you, how would making this super-fast be unbalancing? I think it would be perfect for the Pistoleer class to have at LEAST 1 very, very fast pistol (would go along with the fast speed, low damage concept I feel the Devs have envisioned for this class). Something along the lines of .5, maybe less? Especially with AP0 (and ENERGY damage no less), it seems to be only common sense....but then you all can't be the only ones thinking everything 'they' do makes sense

BTW, I have been under the impression that pistols are capped at .5 seconds. Is this correct, or is it 1 second?

I actually had to stop and think about that for a minute. I knew the RB and DX2 immediatelyof course. I've been a pistoleer since release and a weaponsmith for around 4 months now. I couldn't think of the SR for a while. It just goes to show how crummy of a pistol the SR actually is when someone who uses and makes pistols forgets the thing even exists.


Either that or its time to take my medication.

But see you even say you know people who owns a DE but thye never shoot the thing. Thats because of laws man! You cant go around firing a high powered pistol in real life. Rewmember this is a game where everyone is killing people and not going to jail for it and if you do get killed you simply recloan, not like real life where youd really hurt someone and theyd sice to exist.


The thing is, is look at a T21. AP3 and yet almost twice the damage of any pistol. Makes sense to me that while a pistol does have the penatrating power of a rifle, it should have stopping power so youd think our AP0 weapons should have the damage of a T21 (the geo sonic blaster is around there but a little high but its a rare loot weapon) then for AP1 I say I like where my republican blaster is but then there should be an AP2 pistol with 150 damage.(the damage of our better AP0 and AP1 pistols now just about)


Sure it sounds like Im talking more power but really its because pistoleers really do need it unlike the spoiled rifleman, and no offense there but you guys do have and have had some really nice weapons befor all of this and good for you, nothing wrong with it, we just want some in pistoleer also, can you blame us?

It's confirmed that the weapon stats have not been put on TC yet and any stats you have seen are not the correct ones (i.e. the ones that are intended). Hopefully we'll get newer versions of these weapons soon and we can get 'em tested out.

Lots of things change on TC before they go live. That means that it's good to fight for the changes you want. It also means that what you see may be a far cry from what yer supposed to get.
