I know this is just a name but I love that we are considered crowd control. This means we will need some skill to defeat our foes, which is much better than just spamming our best shot. Also I think that the true GREAT pvpers will stand out and the pretenders with leet templates will fall by the way side (not saying all people with leet temps are not good pvpers but it is easy to be good with a leet temp).

I like the whole Crowd Control thing too. It's alot more then what we are now anyways. It's not as if we can't attack anymore either. That thinking really irratates me, and is simply due to people reading the name and complaining without reading up on the CU.
APistoleer Master is more useful in controling mobs then damaging then outright, so as I look at is, we're doing better then we are right now. When was there demand for a Pistoleer in a group lately? Hey, if the skills areas good as they sound, maybe I can go on Death Watch Bunker runs and be useful!

yes cause it already matches my style.., when i grinded pistols, i didnt always have a doctor buff, and i killed alot of perleks,so Iwould deal with adds with- /PMD1; /panicshot; /peace; and some /suppressionfire1 to fight multiple mobs so I love the thought of even more crowd controling options.

Odd, isnt pvp about DAMAGE not sticking delays, dizzys and posture downs? honestly all pistoleers who like pvp are not going to succeeed, and for the DWB idea, yes this will make us more usefull but still we will need a damage dealer... sounds alot like eq2 here.

OH so you must have played the CU version in live already eh. Cool what server are you on, I want to play too. So you are saying that the point of PVP is not delays, dizzies, and PD. Well sounds to me like you have never pvped in your life because in most PVP battles the guy that lands a dizzy kd/PD usually wins. which does not matter cause you have NEVER played the CU version live yet so what you say makes NO sense. You dont like pistoleer, then leave. And for the DWB idea since when have you not needed a damage dealer?

I love the idea behind crowd control too..I think the CU gives SWG a much more Starwars-like feel than before...Imagine the Rebel Sgt. master pistoleer keeping the stormies at bay while his friends flees!

so your saying dizzy, delays and PD's are going to win a 1v1 fight? no its going to give your team the advantage so they can hit them not you, so we will have to stay they and dizzy them while the other proffessions hit them. We will suck in 1v1 pvp.

I reserve judgement on whether or not the new pistoleer role is cool until after I can play as a pistoleer.
One thing I've noticed, is that across the board, all the novice professions are basically the same. By skill box III we all have a melee range knockdown attack. (Basically, pistol melee defense 1 became firearm strike and all 3 ranged weapon lines get it and all melee profs get lunge at some point.)
Firearm Strike is a dizzy knockdown too, as well as the lunges I think. We were goofing around, and when you get firearm struck and fall down, you stay down. Of course, we completely forgot about Knockdown Recovery, mostly because we were discovering that PvP is completely bugged right now. We could only duel in PvP by doing the radial attack and having our set default attack be used. We couldn't use specials from the toolbar. So to knockdown, you'd have to set that as default, then radial attack, then switch the default to another attack and radial attack then. Not to mention our natural healing was so fast we couldn't hurt each other with our tier II skills (me Pistols, him Carbines.)
Anyways, the long part of the post is I have no idea what it's like to be a pistoleer, as they have made all the novice portions the same. We're all marksmen right now with the same moves, we just use different weapons.
(though maybe at tier IV we get unique moves?)

Every MMO is about roles. If you want to form a party to take down a certain mob, or tackle a dungeon, you're going to need a good balance of roles in your group. The fact of the matter is, CC (crowd control) classes/professions are ALWAYS desired, just like healing classes/profs. DDs (damage dealers) are usually more of a convenience than a necessity. Every group needs a tank and a healer to keep that tank and any "squishies" alive. But when the Healer or another "squishy" comes under attack from an add, you want a good CC class supporting the group until the tank can draw the agro and get the situation back under control.
The Pistoleer's ability to significantly reduce an opponent's ability to dish out damage against one of your squishier groupmates will come in very handy when fighting in the wild (where random spawns occur frequently), or in dungeons where patrolling enemies can come out of nowhere to turn the tide of battle against your group.
Definition: "squishy" --character class with low damage mitigation/hit points. Especially weak against direct enemy attacks. Usually "squishy" characters have very high damage output or the ability to heal themselves, or evade combat, but cannot handle much direct damage. Examples of "squishy" characters in SWG would be any character given a low Defensive rating.

Every good MMO that is. Ppl keep crying about that their makingSWG an EQ clone or w/e, but at least the system works. Obviously from the ghost towns here, both PC and major cities, there is a serious problem with this game, they tried to make it "different" than the other MMOGs, problem was everyone left this "different" game for more balanced MMOGs, like EQ2 where you have roles to play and have to work together. Not some geysuper buffavailable so aflock of macroing powergamers can hold the illusion that their spamming of specialsis like, souber, all self asorbed and stupid. It killed the game and its population obviously.

Can't aggree with you more, Golrok!
This game needs GROUP PLAY! If you want a first person shooter, go buy Halo. If you want an MMORPG, then keep playing SWG.

When are you going to see a 1v1 fight? Have you ever shown up at a base and only seen one person guarding it? Or entered a dungeon with only one mob? I could see this as a problem if you're a Bounty Hunter, but if you're a BH, who says you need to be a pistoleer?
What's so bad about giving your team the advantage? Sure, you won't be the guy "pwn"ing everyone with the heavy damage, but controlling a large group of opponents and sticking states on them could certainly turn the tide of a battle.
I think you're major problem is that pistoleer has been turned into a support class. Your group will need you to control the enemy and you'll need your group to finish them off. You aren't worthless, in fact, you'll be rather valuable. It's just that your role has been changed.

Please speak for yourself. I along with anyone else that LEARNS their prof will not suck. So you should have just said "I will suck at pvp" instead of taking us all down with you.
