Hello im a commando and im about to train novice pistoleer tonight but i want to make sure that the health shot 2 is worth it.. what kind of damage compared to health shot 1? is the DOT stackable with health shot 1? or should i just use the pistol exp and go for the smuggler pistol line? I am just looking for a few skills to help out my launcher pistol before it switches to heavy weapons exp.. help would be nice

HS 1 and 2 do stack. I hear, though they sound too rough to be true, that the estimate is that HS2 does twice the dmg of HS1, so you basicly triple your bleed shot... Again that doesn't sound like the way the system usualy works so I'm not sure.

But they definately do stack, oh and good luck on the Commando line, heh

ok here are some answers:

1) Healthshot 2 is roughly double the damage of healthshot 1

2) Yes they are stackable

So if you initiate combat with both health shot 1 and 2, then every 20 seconds you will be bleeding the target for roughly 3 times the damage health shot 1 does alone. I find it extremely useful to use.

Oh, to give an idea on the kind of damage the two combined do in more of a real world, non-number, sense:

A good healthshot 2 and healthshot 1 bleed can drop close to half a Feral Bantha's health in 20 seconds with no other attacks involved. Of course you can kill them faster than that otherwise, but thats just to give you an idea of the damage the 2 attacks can do every 20 seconds.

My tests show that HS1 will hit in the range of 1.5 times your normal non-special hit. HS2 will hit in the range of 2 times your normal non-special ht. Thus HS2 is nowhere near 2x HS1.

But by getting HS2 and stacking both you willdo 133%more bleed damage than using HS1 alone.

Conversely if you usually just use HS2 you could be getting 75% more bleed damage by using HS1 also.

If you just use HS2 to replace HS1 then you will be doing 33% more bleed damage.

Do you all realize that the damage done with the Healthshot line DO NOT give you any XP? I did some tests last night where I tapped a blue con with a single Healthshot hit and let it bleed to death. NO XP!

Therefore the Healthshot line is useless except in PvP or some other situation where killing the thing in question is a higher priority than getting the XP for killing it.

I *heart* stacking these attacks... usually gets me 600-800 bleeds each time depending on where it hits.

**edit** No, you can't.

*Sigh* Allright, here's some facts for all of those people out there wanting to know more about the Weapon ExpBasics of SWG: An Empire Divided:

When in battle, the experience received will be directly (absolutely directly) relatedto the damage you did with your weapon.

--------An example: If I shoot an Imperial Colonel for 375 damage using Health Shot 2, I will get credit at the end of the battle for that amount of damage (375) because it was done with a blast from my pistol. If the Imperial Colonel bleeds for 1000 damage 'ex post facto' (after the fact), I WILL NOT get credit for that damage in the matter of Pistol Exp at the end of the battle. It only makes sense, my pistol only initiated the bleeding, it didn't cause the bleeding each time he bled. A side note: Usinghealth shots to make your opponent bleedWILL NOT take away from your Combat Exp at the end of the battle.

This means you will get less Pistol Exp at the end of the battle if you use Health Shot than if you didn't. However, using Health Shot can be the difference maker in determining whether you will or won't survive the battle. So my advice to you all is to use it, and if you have HS 1 and 2, stack them. You'll get less weapons exp, but not noticeably enough to make you wish you had done it all on your own power.

I hope this educates the SWG player listed directly above this message .

Music, you're wrong. You do NOT receive less experience when using bleeds. The amount of exp a monster gives is not based on HAM, but on many other factors. Take this hypothetical situation for example:

Mob X is set to give you 3000 exp solo, and has 9000 HAM. If I use no bleeds, kill Mob X, I get 3000 exp. Simple.

This time, I use bleeds on Mob X. Throughout the fight, the bleed does a total of 3000 damage. From your post, you are saying that I will receive 2000 exp for killing Mob X, but this is untrue: you will get 3000.

Think of it this way: bleed damage actually takes away from the total HAM the mob can have, but since exp is independent of HAM bleeds are nothing but an advantage to you. So in my Mob X situation above, at the end of the fight I got 3000 exp for a mob that had 6000 HAM. Use your bleeds, use them everytime, and use them first.

Let me explain a little more. In group situations, it's true that exp is directly related to the damage done with your weapon.Bleed damage does not count, you are correct. But Tusken Raider A is worth the same exp as Tusken Raider B no matter how much HAM they have, or if either has bleeds hitting them. The only disadvantage you have applying bleeds is that you are taking up time that the mob is aliveby applying bleeds instead of shooting the mob for real damage. So in effect you are not getting as much exp as you would have if those 1 or 2 bleed shots were body shots instead (which isn't much of a difference at all for us pistoleers, especially if the fights are longer than 5 seconds :smileywink. If that's what you meant by:

then you are partially correct.

Somehow your logic is still a bit off.

How can you get the same exp no matter how you kill a mob solo, and get less for using HS (1and/or 2)when in a group? I've never heard of this, nor do I agree with it after doing some testing this morning.

Still don't understand how this can be, why is there a different weapons exp set-up in a group setting? *frown* Bad development, that kind of coding can lead to bugs fast on an mmorpg, which I have had several mob's that I shot at in a group setting and did not miss, but got no exp when the mob was killed (however this hasn't happened in a week or so).

I guess I'm just not seeing your point on being partially correct, the aspects of combat should not vary on the situation or the enemy involved. The combat exp should be the same no matter how you kill the mob, but the pistol weapons exp should not include bleeding costs on the opponents HAM, a Pistol is not a heart pushing blood out of a wound *lol*. It is, after all, PISTOL WEAPONS EXPERIENCE.

Not to say you are wrong and I am right. It'sjust that if you're right and I'm only partially right, then we have found yet something else the developers need to fix (**edit** they should have gotten it right before June 26).
