Everyone is invited to this event. The reason it’s a pilot strike and not a pistoleer, bounty hunter, pikeman, WHATEVER strike is obvious. The fact that PILOTS refuse to fly means we DO NOT want Jump to Lightspeed before the combat balance is done! The combat balance was promised to us months ago. It’s time our voices be heard! This includes everybody! Whatever profession you are, if you play Star Wars Galaxies, log on to Sunrunner and join us in Theed for the largest symbol of dissatisfaction the developers have ever witnessed!

Background: A similar strike took place on another server. It involved the lack of armor for wookies. Even characters from other servers created wookies on one server for the event. It was a success, and the developers were forced to acknowledge the problem and fix it. Striking is the best way to send the developers a message. We don’t care about JTL, fix the game that we play right now! If you hammer out a hole in a wall, do you cover it up with wallpaper? No! You FIX IT! SOE should give us what they promised!

If it gets laggy to the point where you can’t move, so be it! As long as your character is present. Personally I’ll be stomping, flailing, chanting slogans of dissatisfaction, but as long as you’re present it is fine. Whether you want to go grab a beer, watch some TV, or do whatever, leave your character online in Theed at the strike. We have strength in numbers! It is enough to send a message.

ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS OF STAR WARS GALAXIES

Once again the combat balance and revamp has been delayed! It was promised to us MONTHS ago and now it has been OFFICIALLY declared that it has been delayed until AFTER the “Jump to Lightspeed” expansion! This is your chance for your voices to be heard! Practically FREE various flight suits are being given out outside of Theed for the event.

Instructions:

1. Create a character on Sunrunner

2. Pick up a flightsuit, for 50 credits in a vendor outside of Theed! (-5307 3387)

3. Show up in the city of Theed, Naboo on:

Saturday, the 31st of July.

4PM Pacific Standard Time/7PM Eastern Standard Time/11PM (2300) Greenwich Standard Time

http://home.comcast.net/~belaya/strike.htmfor details

This affects everybody! Not just pistoleers. What I need you all to do is to pass on the message to everyone on your server. We have been getting quite a few new people on Sunrunner who are joining us just to participate in this massive display of dissatisfaction! Some names I've even noticed (likea guy named WeWantCombat Balance, /salute goes out to him for being clever . Support us! Be there!

I think you're referring to the wookiee protest on Corbantis.

JtL is ten times more important than anything in the game right now. People just don't get that because all they know is the normal game. But it is basically the second half of SWG.

Plus it's combat revamp, not balance, get straight what you're protesting about.

to be perfectly honest JTLS has been postponed longer than combat revamp. It was stated when the game was about to release the space expansion was 6 months away. Personally JTLS is the only thing keeping me from leaving.

I glad this idea caught on.

Boycott JTL until the ground game is fixed!

This is a terrible idea. Let me get this straight: you want SOE to postpone what looks like an incredibly fun addition to SWG for an indeterminate length of time while they put in the combat balance? That would KILL SWG, kill it dead. JTL has to come out now to compete with the next generation of MMOs (WoW anyone?). Personally, I'm glad that I'll have something to keep my attention while they code in the combat balance. Granted, these issues should have been taken care of months ago, but boycotting something that the game desperately needs in order to get something else it desperately needs is just dumb.

I don't know how much something like this will help, but I just wanted to say that SOE has a proven history of pushing products out the door before their ready. I was in Beta and when the release of SWG was approaching there was a vast majority of people on the beta forums calling for the game not to be released yet. EVERYONE in beta knew the game was not ready for release. But, SOE released it anyways. I'd be willing to bet that JTL won't be much different. But, what really burns me is the fact that there are so many things from the original release that has been broken since the beginning that still isn't fixed. I think this is unacceptable. I wonder if George Lucas has ever looked at these forums and seen some of the complaints. Some how I doubt it. Don't get me wrong, I think the Dev's mean well and have created a game that had the possibility of being great. But, they've fallen short just because they don't focus on the existing problems. They continue to create new content but fail to fix anything that doesn't work properly. I can partially understand why they keep creating new content. I think they are afraid that they either won't generate enough new customers or maybe people will get bored and leave. Maybe they figure that people get mad when things don't work right, but don't necessarily leave. I don't know...

ugh, theres no point in it.the devs arnt going to be there.they never took a hint when everyone cancelled thier accounts.personally i enjoy the game as-is and i welcome the expansion with open arms (and wallet )

The only way you are going to get the devs attiontion is if you were to walk into their houses while they are sleeping and yelled in thier ear.But whatever floats your boat on a waste of time.i think the devs have done a wonderfull job on this game and ill make a char to stand next to your demonstration and spam"dont listen to them they are drunk!".

Great idea.

I can fully agree with all points made.

I paid for this game, and am still paying for this game...

Why then is there stuff being put on a foundation that is placed on wet sand.

You fix the foundation, you don't put on an addition.

Logging onto another server to protest, isnt gonna do jack, and heres why. You are still paying them. Plain and simple, if you are ingame, they are getting your money. they dont care if you dont fly, youre still paying them.

I like your idea Strel. Even if the Dev's do nothing at least it will show them what the SWG community really wants. You should take a character count as well or even take some sceenshots and forward them to a gaming magazine. The last time a flood of emails was sent to a gaming magazine, they made a call to SOE to find out whats up. Nothing is worse than bad publicity. The Dev's claim that we want JTL more than a Combat Balance. I want them to show me that poll and prove it. I think it's just their excuse that they are using to push JTL before the Christmas rush to make more cash. For all those that want JTL as soon as possible, either you recently started playing or are a FOTM not playing a broken profession. All of us who have been playing since launch are very irritated with the delay of the CB and want it to be fixed.

For arguments sake yes I am eagerly waiting for JTL. It will help with the Star Wars feel even more. BUT!!! as a paying customer current problems need addressed before new ones are brought to the table. No I will not quit this game because I enjoy it despite the problems. I find other things to do to have an enjoyable time. But you have to agree that the game is devided up as 50% combat and 50% crafting according to professions that a character involves themselves in. As of now that 50% combat is having problems with their chosen profession. If you take all your players on your server and split them 1/2 and 1/2 with combat and crafting, then that means that 1/2 of all your active players are playing with a broken part of the games mechanics. That is a rediculous percentage if you ask me.

Flame me if you want but as a paying customer I do have a right to my opinion and thats what the boards here provide.
