Thread: Dual wielding solution

Hey how about this idea. How about the requirement to be able to dual wield pistols be a certain accuracy mod number. Obviously if youre not that accurate with one pistol you will be useless in handling two. This would allow not only pistoleers and bounty hunters to dual wield. But would also open the door for dabblers to reach the accuracy mod goal so that they might be able to use dual wield also. I think its a pretty fair idea that doesnt exclude everyone except pistoleers and BHs. What do you guys think?

I really think Dual Wield should only be for MASTER pistoleers (MAYBE master bounty hunters too, not because of Jango, but because they are skilled with pistols as well....but then they are also not masters of the weapon, so I'm uncertain about them ). I think dual wielding should be a reward reserved for the master pistoleers, not just given to anyone who can dabble in pistoleer

I agree, except I think it should be reserved for Master Pistoleer's only. We should have some sort of cool trademark

Dual weild should be reserved for Master Pistoleers only. It should be a trademark that make the Pistoleer profession unique among the ranged classes. BH has three types of weapons to use, and can use them all proficeintly that is their power and trademark, but dual weilding should be reserved to those who have dedicated themselves to the pistol.

the upcoming patch is going to screw over the BH's ability to effectively use all three weapons, but thats besides the point...



I dont want to be able to use two pistols. with the devs statement that buffs are beinbg toned way back, all two pistols will do id make you burn through the new HAM system even faster. doesnt sound like fun to me. I would rather they fix the rest of the profession LONG before they get around to letting us use two pistols.

I agree that dual wield should belong to master pistoleers and only to masters, every profession has something "special" to offer when mastered, this should be it for pistoleer.

Another vote for Masters only. I don't want Fencers dabbling for Dodge or novices with the same ability that I have, having dedicated myself to earning several million pistol experience.

I was actually thinking of an idea for the game overall (for special attributes)where you could spend skill points on special boxesthat are like the new Force Enhancements but for regular professions. Like an extra page of tick boxes in the Skill sheet, that you can spend points into. Dual Wielding would be one on many on that sheet.Novice, Intermediate and Expert Dual Wieldingcould be there. All CostingXP (Novice being free at Stances 4 or something) like Dual Weilding XP and thenonly a few skill points are required (3novice - 2inter - 1expert ??). Then at Master you are allowed to tick the expert Dual Weilder box ifyou want it. [as most people know, some templates leave some points left over that just can't be used well.]


It would be great for Elder players who wish to specialise and have found a niche that they just want abit of extra power in.

Agree. Reserved for Master Pitoleer. This simply seems the most logical thing to me.

how about make Dual Weild possible at Novice Pistoleer, with -50% accuracy and -50% damage, or even more than that.


then, as you progress up the pistoleer tree (the aiming/speed branch probably) you'd get bonuses to dual weild accuracy and dual weild damage. at master pistoleer you'd have something like dual weild accuracy +75, dual weild damage +50 or something actually useful.


but, before adding dual weild, how about making pistoleers good? i think it's dumb that as a pistoleer not only can i NOT use all the pistols in the game, but that i get 0 status attacks (pistol-whip hardly counts) and 0 targeted attacks (BH's get Eye Shot, because, obviously, a BH is better with pistols than a freaking MASTER PISTOLEER).

I feel your anger Sodium :-D I want a scatter and I cant use launcher pistols? What, are these not pistols, or is it just me and all the rest of the pistoleers that feel this way???
