Thread: My esteemed colleagues, give me some ideas please? :D
1. Y-wing (standard)
2.Y-wing LongProbe
3.X-wing (standard)
4.B-wing
One word suggestions will suffice, however any comments and suggestions would be welcome! I must admit, my expertise in the field of B-wings for instance is somewhat limited...The amazing mass is somthing which is actually harder for me to work with. (A-wings are simple. Low mass but fewer parts to slot in
)
Thanks...and yeh I am so tempted to jump into a B-wing simply because I know I'll suck with it at first. In fact..I might just outright suck with it
. I'll let this one roll on for a whilelonger though before I make a decision.
Erm...in the words of werehere

Hi guys. So..I'm tinkering with my A-wing and its pretty spiffy (understatement), however I now need somthing else to do.
I'm not going to touch a JSF etc. The only rotw ship I fly is the Advanced X-wing for parts grinding and pvp wise, only after finishing said part grind and conducting a swift tour in DeepSpace so when I leave my overloads will be cleared and my parts decaylessly repaired.
Out of these ships I am about to list from the Rebel fighter corps, please give suggestions to which I might try and set up to as close to the limit that I personally can. I know from preference and personal experience, the A-wing will always be my first choice of ship to fly but I reckon I should get some more flight time in somthing a little different. It'll be fun too since each of these other ships has more/a lot more mass than an A-wing so my approach on them will be a little different.
Ok...er here we are...
1. Y-wing (standard)
2.Y-wing LongProbe
3.X-wing (standard)
4.B-wing

Hmmm... just to be completely different... how about using a standard Y-Wing ... lvl 10 engine, lvl 9 (for speed) gun. put a smaller pee shooter in the turret for multi-player PvP fun! add armor and other components for spice, and engine overload 4
may not fly like a Vaksai, but it will sure surprise a few folks out there... CHEAP chassis too!
Standard Y-wing eh? Hmm, nice suggestion. After giving it ten minutes of thought though I think I'll try the B-wing.
This is going to be one hell of a logistical nightmare for me though
.
1.So much mass, no idea what to do with it and..
2. One moment in A-wing which handles like a dream to..then being in a B-wing which feels like a POB ship to fly. I'm about to get very confused

I never really looked at the actual mass of that thing till I saw this thread... If you like the look of them, definately CANON, and you won't see very many out there. VERY nice sleeper if you can make it work. Honestly this is just a spark of an idea.. I may just do this once I grind rebel pilot with my alt.
You already have your Awing of death... now for fun, see how many JSF's you can take out with a Y-wing =P
If you don't really have a turret gunner atleast part time, go with the LP and get even more deadly... see if you can actually make a loadout that makes WO4 feasible!
WO4? Thats crazy talk boy...however I like it. Now I'm even reconsidering the B-wing choice. Hum...
Y-wings are very retro and thus 'cool'. I might go fo the middle ground and go with a LP.

Like you, i really love flying the a-wing. But i also love trying new things, so the other day i got myself a b-wing. I hadn't flown anything recently besides my a-wing and a b-22, so it took some getting used to. At first i really had mixed feelings about the b-wing, but i'm really starting to enjoy it. I chew up gunboats like nobody's business while my wingmates in the x-wings are constantly retreating. The only problem is dogfighting the smaller ties where precision flying is needed, somethign the b-wing struggles with.
The B-wing indeed does appear to have hellish weapon spread
.
Hum...I think I'll go witht he Longprobe though. I just realised I've never -ever- flown one. I just always went from z-95 to x-wing or from the standard Y-wing to the x-wing when I repeated the pilot profesison prior to ROTW. I will one day make a B-wing, but for now I think the Y-wing LongProbe will be my next 'obsession'. Well...it'll never replace an A-wing in my books, but I can make it look pretty at least.
The most important pieces of advice I can give any pilot is 1.To make your ship LOOK COOL! and 2.Trust me about the suncream.

1. You'll still run out of it, trust me. Though you'll be scrounging k's, not hundreds. ![]()
2. I don't know, you got theA so fast I'm sure you're visualizing the flight path and everything. B-wing needs the same. You just need to adjust to slow and steady on the stick.
It is an extremely fun ship to set up. With 4 guns, 2 ordnances and 244k mass the possible combinations of equipment are endless.
Edit: 1st pointer: With the amount of equipment that gets loaded on a B-Wing, drain is even more important then mass.

IN the words of werehere thing funny
oh and the were here thing was joke in first place awhile back but now that it thinks about it , the bumping thing goes well with it lol.
well i would go with the kse it rocks two guns and twomissiles with the turning of a krayt which witha good engine is pretty good not a a-wing tho but i load two image recs mk 2 and two lev 10 guns lev 8 re shield low mass reactor and heavy armour it rocks in pve and is good in pvp got five kills out of 8 fights in it . IT took a week or so of flyig to get to be able to line up both guns on a target and get both to hit key is to delay one just a parsec later so it hits i cant do it anymore because after not flying it for a week lost skill . worked most of time. ONe big target tho.
