Don't equip the Y-Wing. If you're a friendly sort of guy, you'll get a never-ending series of /tells asking, "Hey, man, can I soak up some XP in your turret?" I kid you not.

With the B wing try and make the ultimate L10 Shield.

With enough looting they can get pretty tasty, i have a 17.49 regen pre RE L10 sitting at home. And i've seen a 2600 on the bazaar search.

Could be a very nice gun ship + they look the coolest

im currently 4-4-4-3 in rebel and should have master fairly soon(a day or two) and I'm looking forward to trying out the B-wing. While i keep a x-wing equipped for general Pve and part farming use, and an Awing equipped for those times i absolutly have to be flying at breakneck speed. I always like to have a heavy gunship available for when i need that extra firepower.

Like a previous poster said the x wing feels alot like spray and pray due to the wide spread of the guns. I'm quite fond of the longprobe as it begins to look very nice with different engine graphics etc, but having something with 4 guns would be an amazing advantage. just a case of overcoming the sliding i hear so much about.

I think even with a Y wings mass you'll struggle to get absolutly everything in. the guns(2x lvl 8 reward re's) will eat 50k of mass(25k each)right off the bat. and a good level 10 engine will easily eat 50k. that leaves you with what? 70k of mass left. so maybe a good DI will eat 10-15k. a good reward re'd shield maybe 25-30k. which doesnt leave you much for armour capacitor booster and ordinance. as much as i would love to use the LP at higher levels i cant help but feel the mass wont cut it compared to the B wing. it'll be interesting to see how the B wing compares handling wise though. and size wise.

I was amazed at how popular I became once I loaded out my Krayt.

I don't think you'd really need 2 lvl8 guns. Because the Y is best used as a bomber type you'd want to focus more on being able to absorb hits more than blaster damage. Stuff that thing with as much ordnance as you can, a couple slabs of REd Nym armor or beter (around 15k-20k mass and 2k protection if you can get a good RE), and nice shields. Then build to fit from that point. I do agree that a nice DI should be stuffed in there also.

For guns I'd probably go with lvl6 or lvl7 RE jobs or maybe one lvl6 (the one I have in my ship is around 10k mass and does 1500-2800 damage with WO4 it makes for a nice little PVP gun) and a quick lvl8 or 9. I'd stuff the big boy on the front for jousting and the quick one in the turret to use for crowd control. If you've got a good gunner in your turret he'll be able to track your target better than you can. So let him spit hot fire and keep the bad guy busy while you try to line up for the missile lock. And if you're feeling a little evil have your gunner disable the bad guy then park right in front of the wounded duck and make sure he sees you before you deliver a proton into his cockpit.

Just my oppinion.

I've been eyeing a Y-Wing Longprobe. My second PvP capable ship is online now (Advanced X-Wing), and I'm looking for something new to goof around in.

I'm thinking a 119 Speed Type V and III Booster, a nice Type IV or V reactor and a pair of speed experimented level 7 guns behind a Type V shield and hardcore front armor with Image Recs might make a b*tchin' jouster.

Imperial-style tight forward weapon grouping should work nicely for those little buggers.

Ouch.

The funny thing is that most of us cocky squint pilots will underestimate the Y....at least until our first trip back to the space station for repairs

Yeh. I got to admit, I am not a fan of the B-wing. I've seen awesome thigns done with them but I've always loved high speed etc..*insert A-wing here*.

Anyhow. I do think it looks cool and that is very important. Also, with the ship being somewhat the polar opposite to an A-wing, it'd really give me somthing to learn about. I reckon I'd make use of three of the weapon slots along with a hefty ordnance package. On top of this, having a decent shield would be paramount. As for engine...well I'm inclined to go out farming for a new lvl 10. Crafted engines ..I don't like and I never settle for anything less than Engine overload 4 and with the B-wing's power demands..using a crafted engine wouldn't work with EO4 I sincerely doubt. Hell though, I might just stick with EO3 for this ship.

So yeh, I'll try the B-wing for a while. One thing I like about it is that it appears to have a rather small profile width wise. Oh and also...has that annoying 'wings not opening/closing' bug been fixed yet? I just need a name for my B-wing's variant. I think I might be corny and go with 'Behemoth'.

My best B-Wing arrangement.

Type V Reactor (19413 energy)

Type V Engine (119 speed)

Type II Booster (11 second burn for long run cruising)

Type V Shield (2294 front/back)

Type III Armor front/back (1070 armor points)

Type V Weapon Capacitor (60.4 regen, 850 energy)

Level 1 prenerf DI (14.2 speed)

4 Advanced Blasters 2500 max damage, .26 refire, 26-27 energy per shot

With that fit out and RO4, EO3, WO2, CO4, sayonara Star Destroya in barely over a minute (hey, its not the HARDEST target out there, but its a decent benchmark for comparison, since it IS the most consistent), my fastest time to date. For PvE, it was probably more horrific to watch in action than when I had a buncha L7/L9 weapons with .35 -.4 refire. Spitting four shots at a time every quarter second is just a fiersome sight to behold.

Of the choices you give, id say either:

1. Xwing
Your orginal choice of ship before we crossed paths. You'd impress the hell out of people mastering this ship in PvP.

1. B wing
To be original, and have two MK II IR's

With it's low speed manuverability, in theory, a good B pilot should be able to eat up all of these RotW ships.

i've got to disagree with you on that one. The best PVP ships are usually ones with a really small hitbox and insane maneuvering abilities. Now i haven't taken on anything more challenging maneuvering-wise than a tie interceptor in my b-wing, but because of the oversteering, keeping a lock on those small fast ships is pretty tricky.

but i've only been flying it for a day with a very mediocre engine at best, so i could be wrong.

However, if you catch a rotw ship off guard, or if you two are jousting on the first approach, there is no reason a b-wing shouldn't win with it's four blasters and two missiles.

As for the arc, i get the impression that if it were to be used in PvP, the pilots and gunners would have to possess an amazing amount of coordination to set up shots. It can be pretty tricky even in just pve. It's completely possible though
