I know this has been discussed a few times, but after a foray into Deepspace yesterday, up against a RG I had to resort to missiles, or resign myself to 20mins + of trying to get him so I can hit his hit box. So, I dropped 2 immage recs on his ass. I then got numerous tells sayin *&**&^&* *&*^&&9, missiles, you *(*&&^*&&99 etc.
I was even called dishonourable, whic got me a bit miffed, as I do count myself as honourable. After all, he's the one in a bugged ship, not me.
So my question to you guys is. Do you use missiles in PvP, if so, what situations would you say warrent the use of missiles? IO know POB's and Tie/Opps all have 3 ordnance points, thus are designed to be missile slinging platforms, but what about fighters? I personally like to use them, they can give you that edge that you need, and if you don't carry chaff, then you are asking to be missiled in my oppinion.
Please discuss

I don't use missiles in PvP (I also don't PvP), but it seems to me that if you're flying a ship that is nearly impossible to hit normally, then there are really only two options. 1, missiles. 2, EPulse. And if you have a problem with that, stop flying bugged ships.

Wouldn't call it dishonorable. Cheesy, mayhaps.
But definatley a fully legal move.

His own fault for not carrying countermeassures.

Erm, he's the one that didn't chaff them. I don't know of any type of missiles of which you can have more of than a pack of chaff. If there's a legitimate, trustworthy counter to a move, I don't see how it's cheap.
I likes missiles. They're the only thing that kills me regularly, and they're the only thing I can use to kill certain foes regularly.

Well if the Pilot correspondent says its ok, then to me, it's ok. In Future I'll just say "Well Tomo says it's ok, so go stick you tactics up your ***"
Personally the only thing I don't agree with is loadkilling, E-Pulse (even though it's a legit skill) and killing if people are stationary and obviously not intent on combat at that time.

Anyone in Deepspace is a legitimate target.
Exception is loadkilling.
I love sneaking up on unsuspecting targets.
BOOM! HEADSHOT!

Missles are perfectly legal IMO, though I would also argue that epulse is as well. Epulse drops all of your energy (capcitor/shields) down to zero making you a sitting duck(not usually a huge issue in PvP since your really a one hit kill anyways).
Tie oppressors also have 3 missle ports allowing you instant death if you so desire (triple launch will kill pretty much any other ship in a single pass, double launch will work in most cases as well).

More than perfectly legal, they're the icing on the cake for those who bust their tails to play the mass game.
Just because he can't chaff 'em doesn't mean I shouldn't launch 'em, I say.
/salute the pilots who bring their A Game and their A Ship.

So having armour, front and back, Mk II Image recs, and chaff gives me an A ship?
the only thing I don't have on my JSF is a cargo hold
Never leave without 800 armour front and back and my 1700 shields, though having a 9k RE'd pre nerf engine does help, I must say

As said before its completely 'legal',its like saying you cant use blasters because he doesnt have a shield installed at the time.

Get him over to Starsider. Chaff launchers are a neccessity in our fights, especially in the mass battles.
