Thread: Who here is tired of being a maid?

I don't know about you guys, but I am.

Frankly, I REALLY don't mind helping people out with missions.

Well...let me rephrase that. I don't mind helping people out on missions that they:
a) tried and failed at several times solo and or grouped with friends,
b) haven't been able to find help for.

What's starting to seriously tweak me are the tide of new pilots (and this just ain't the brand-newbies - you former chest-beating ground pounders who want another badge are largely guilty of this too) who see JTL as just another title/badge, and see people like me, who've invested a lot of time and experience into my "craft" (if you could call it that), and use me like a goddamned space sherpa to drag them up the tiers.

Since evidently I didn't use 1337speak or smiley faces, evidently I have to put something here claiming that everything I said past this point was to be read with as egotistical SARCASM.

So, I've decided on a happy medium. My JSF easily has about 20 million in desirable loot on it, maybe more, it's hard to approximate these things. I (just today) have 50 PvP kills on the server to a mere six deaths. I've taken down over 300 Vettes, most for fun because depressingly enough - it's a damn nice spawn for Kessel since they took the megaclouds out (even though bragging about something as simple as fragging a Vette is like a frat boy knocking a kid out of a wheelchair to win the 50 yard dash in the Special Olympics). I can easily make AI Tier 4 and 5 gunboats my b*tch.

So, being one of, and if not THE best pilot on Eclipse, I think from now on, unless someone is a longtime friend or guildie of mine, my services will cost 1 million per mission. If you're going to make me do your mission for you, I may as well be well-compensated for the services rendered. If JTL is worth nothing to you but something you can say "I did all by myself, I'm 31337," then you can afford to pay my ass for the best assistance possible on the Eclipse server.

Because when I can make 300k per hour in loot and credits running duties, 100k for a boring-ass Tier 3 escort and circle jerk just ain't worth my time anymore.

Stick to "one of", at least until we have had the ETA-2 vs Grievous match

Too right, it's dangerously close to dislocation.

Anywho, if you want to be a selfish, greedy tosser, that's your perogative. Funnily enough, there are quite a few people who play SWG who just arent very good at twitch games. So you're saying that they have to spend a good few hours dying over and over before your grace them with your immense skill? Ah well, there are plenty of us Pilots who're not complete arsewipes, and actually enjoy helping people just for the fun of it.

Quite some bragfest from someone who died to a PvE Mission 2 weeks ago, ridiculous heh. Even more funny when this happened in an Eta-2 Actis Interceptor :-P.

lol ... wow

You know this reads more as an excuse to brag than anything else.

You could always simply say "sorry, I can't help you right now. I'm busy"

Personally I help others with vettes and missions all the time. I only have 2 rules:

1) Don't get killed.

2) Have fun.

Ah, come on. A pilot without his attitude is just some guy.

I try to find time to help those who genuinely need it, but for those who are just looking for a free ride, they're on their own. Generally, it's not too hard to tell the difference.

On Starsider we have pilot helper lists, so people can find wingmen for missions. Often some people have nothing better to do, and helping someone out on a mission is a nice opportunity to chat, exchange tips and tricks, and tall tales from other missions.

On the eclipse forums such lists get started about every three weeks and then drop down into the nothingness after two days, Mr "one-million-credits-per-mission" who started this thread posted an even worse bragfest on our current version of it, disgusting .

We got ours stickied, and from what I know both rebels and imperials have mailing lists as well, to better contact pilots willing to help people out in game.

If you Eclipsers or anywhere else have a good pilot helper list going on your galaxy forum, get me a link to it and I'll see if I can get it stickified too.

One question: how do you manage to get that HUGE head of yours into such a small cockpit???

Just kidding. Seriously, seems some people doubt your abilities. Back in the day when a guy would brag about having the fastest car or being the best driver, he would be willing toput his ride up. The rules are simple; loser walks home. Or in this case, floats home. Perhaps some of these doubters would be willing to make such arrangement. They may not have ships of equal value but hey, you are one of, if not the best pilot on your server. It's not like you could ever be beaten, right?

Just a thought.
