What. The. Hell.
So I take the mission. Escort a transport. Not too hard. I fight endless waves of fighters, and kill them. The transport leaves. I initiate hyperspace. I enter hyperspace, AS it's telling me I'm not yet done. Failure.
I take the mission again. Everything goes fine, but we go through a Kimogila spawn, and I end up being swarmed by 6 rebel ships and 3 kimogilas -- the Transport leaves because I am out of escort distance. I am then killed. Failure.
I take the mission again. I get a friend to help me. Everything goes fine. We get to the second part. We recapture it, and then he escapes. However, we WENT THROUGH A SPAWN WITH 3 TIER 4 A-WINGS. So, we are being attacked by 4 Tier 3 A-wings, 2 Tier 3 B-Wings, and 3 Tier 4 A-Wings. AND THE MISSION STILL ISN'T over. Needless to say, we were slaughtered -- we cannot beat those odds. Failure.
WHY THE HELL IS THIS MISSION SO HARD?

Welcome to Tier Three.
Get a guildie / friend that's Tier 4 / Ace to help you. That's what I did, and now I'm grinding out my Tier 4 pilot experience.

It wouldn't have been so bad if we weren't dragged through high-tier spawn points.... are we even supposed to be going thru those, or is that one of the games many bugs?

Every time I accept this one Tier 4 duty, I get to the mission spawn and a Tier 5 ship spawns out of nowhere. As it happens, that Tier 5 ship is easier to destroy than the Tier 4 fighters zipping around me. I was very put out the time that it also spawned two YT-1300s right in the path of my duty. Load of bollocks.
But again, if one of your friends or guildies has a JSF and a good engine / weapons, it doesn't matter what tier the other ships are.

Welcome to Storm Squadron, rookie. You're just beginning to understand why some of us aces that first finished it are the way we are

Im loving the challenge of Storm Squadron, I was a little put out at doing the 3rd tier 2nd mission 3 times before I figured out it was bugged.

Well, myself, a Tier 2 friend, and a Tier 4 friend, tried Mission 3. Impossible. We could NOT keep the number of rebel ships down, and could not kill a wave .. we always ended up with one last A-Wing before the next wave appeared.
Two questions:
Why make that mission PER WAVE? Why not a set number of fighters you need to kill?
Why make them A-WINGS? THOSE ARE FREAKING HARD TO HIT.

I suggest some better weapons, weapon overload 2 chip, and capicator overload chip (this will keep the overloaded weapon from draining the capicator) and it handles A-Wings like a giant fly swatter. My heavy green blasters I think it is can have their shields down in 2 or 3 hits and disabled in about 6. Now though I can use my level 7 Ionic Pulse weapon with max damage of 2600. This completely destroys A wings in the same ammount of hits.

Disable their engines, this will buy you some extra time to get on top of the waves.

Well, I need to destroy the wave before the next one appears---disabling only takes more time...
Also, my weapon is the most powerful I could find that I could use. I am using a TIE Heavy Variant, so I have a good engine as well.

Try using bomber strike, ignore the Awings and go after the X, Y and B-wings first. They do the most damage anyways. Try siccing your bomber strike primarily on the A-Wings. I had the heavy tie for this mission to and aside from it taking a long time I had no problem soloing it.
