Thread: X-Wing and some Capacitor problems

I'm on the Gorath server. I finally got my X-wing last night, and I am thrilled... no estatic to finally have it. That baby can lay out some serious firepower, and I am in nirvana... sort of.

While I'm currently a 3-2-2-2 pilot, I will achieve 3-3-2-2 tonight and maybe more. I really need a better capacitor. I have a decent one with a 39.1 recharge rate. However, in preparation of obtaining my X-wing, and the ability to have the next level of equipment, I have been scouring every ship componant shop I can find, in hopes of finding a better capacitor.

Does one even exist? I have yet to find any capacitors (any level) on any vendor that has a recharge rate of higher than 40. Should I keep looking? Or is 40 the max recharge?

You should be able to find a lvl 4 cap that will exeed 40. Energy pool in excess of 1000. If you aren't using droid commands by now I would suggest you check the FAQ for the info on those. The basic droid programs will help and a new cap should help any further problems.

I 'm using the droid commands, but I only have shield based ones currently. I don't think I am high enough level to get others yet.

Do a vendor search and look for the following pre-programmed droid chips.

Engine Overload 3

Weapon Overload 3

Reactor Overload 3

Capacitor Overcharge 3

Capacitor Shunt to Shield 4

You can fit all 5 commands in a droid when you train your next droid box.

These commands will keep your cap happy and you alive a lot longer when you learn how to shunt and when

So am I to understand that I can use non-rebel droid commands too? That would be AWESOME!

thats correct, all you need is some unprogrammed droid chips (check bazzar) and a freelance and imperial pilot to burn the right programs onto them

39 recharge is very good for a L2 cap, in a L4 cap it's good but you can do better with work.

Send Tarina a Tell in game, and I can get you the capacitor and reactor overloads. And then I can log into my other character and get you the weapon and engine overloads.

I've got a level 4-5 cap (not sure atm) with 43 recharge and 1k energy pool. What you have is pretty good, so all you really need are overload commands to make it easier, and for that reason, I recomend getting the droid commands before better components.

It's fairly common to find Capacitors in the 45recharge/1000energy range. Look for lvl4-lvl6 capacitors in those ranges, lvl8's easily can hit those marks but your looking at alot more mass for a lvl8 component. lvl4 caps with those stats are out there but can be difficult to find, the lvl6's should be a bit more common but closer to around 8k ish mass.

The '3' overloads are great, but at 3322 you can only use the 2nd tiers from the other pilot classes.

Weapon overload 3 is semi-broken in that it also reduces your energy per shot, so that your capacitor

energy will last longer. The 3 overloads are also much larger than the 2's so your friendly astromech

will probably have to be replaced to get all of the 3 overloads and ctss that you would want to use into

memory.

RO3, EO3, CO3, CtSS3 or 4, and WO3 all fit in a v4 astromech. You can fit RO2, EO2, CO3, CtSS3, and WO3 in a v3 astromech. See A Comprehensive Droid Routine Breakdown for the details on droid capacity and program size.

Pilot tier only affects the size of your droid, you can use any program that will fit.
